oh!!!!!!!!!!!! thats different, you would need to weld in a auxuator on both sides, and connect it to a switch located in the front somewhere.... but it can be done, just need the auxuators ( sp? )

i have been thinki9ng of this for a while, i think all u need to do is shave your lock, and then get a ram, i am pretty sure one would be enough, and then u can control it from a switch. it would make an excellent anti theft device too if you hide the switch.

and it wouldnt need to be bring auxuators (sp?) just get 2 small ones that lift like 5 lbs each, and that should do the trick, i dont think the small ones would be costly...

You don't need to weld anything.
It doesn't matter about how much weight the actuator can lift, it's about the reach.
This is very easy to do.

i saw some bright green thug car w/that.... it would come open (at a stop light) and it said ".... Boys" Whatever their "name" was... in that lime green wire writing (like 'OPEN" signs are made out of). his speaker box was all glowing green. it was neat, kinda ghetto though.

ok i am thinking something like this, get an actuator like this one

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=42894

connect one side to the back of the trunk, and the other side to one of the arms of the trunk, get ride of the lock and extend the remote switch to the driver side.

does this look like it makes sence??

another question, if the actuator is smaller then the size i want it to be when closed, will it stop automatically when the trunk is fully closed?

how do these things work

i think you have to place it "mathematical" so it will close the trunk right when the actuator line "arrives" to its closed point.. and so with the opening.

i want to do this too. But i think i will use normal linear actuators..
