Just to let you know, I cleaned out my dust and pollen filters (behind the glove box) and found alot of dirt and leaves in there. This was only after a year, so I think it's worth checking. You can just vacuum out the dust and reuse the filters.

I will apologize already for a dumb question...but, how exactly do you get to this filter? I would love to change or clean mine too...but have no idea how to or where it's at. Thanks

MORG655 is on a distinguished road
You have to unhook your glove box...I mean take it completely out. There are actually instructions in the driver's manual that comes with the car. At least they are in mine. Anyway there are two filters in there and the one just pulls straight out. The other one requires that you slide the little black thing to the left (I think) then it comes out too. I know this is pretty vague..again instructions should be in the manual.

yea, its in the manual (cuz we all have the same manual). it doesnt exactly come off, you jsut take out the things that keep it from falling down (kinda like little rubber blockers..things..) you'll see a little black box, and i think (havent taken mine out in a while) it even tells you how to take your filters out...

Once again, I will ask the question again: Aren't we all on this message board to learn about our cars and help eachother? With all do respect to Ronin...I don't think that the rude reply was appropriate or necessary. I actually happen to be back in PA for a death in my family...not in San Diego where my manual is located. Thanks to those that posted helpful replies...very much appreciated.

I've said it before, I'll say it again:

http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...hreadid=110329

And yes, we are here to help each other. But it really makes no sense to keep repeating the same stuff over and over, especially when the answers are clearly written in our manuals, and when a simple 5 second search will divulge all the information you will ever need.

And it doesn't matter where your manual is... if you had read it when you first bought your car, you would've known that the answer to your question was in there... maybe not have it memorized, but enough to know that it is there for you to look up later.

And IMO, there is no excuse for not having read it when you first got your car.

Just so you know, I posted to tell people about checking the filter early instead of waiting til 30K. I never asked or said anything about actually replacing them, so it's not a repost. Sorry

No, it's cool ... I have no problem with this thread, it's good advice. I was just pointing out above that instructions for removing the cabin filters can be found in our manuals.

Actually Ronin...I did read my manual...front to back when I got my Civic. That was back in September of 2001. I do have a life and am very busy. I don't read my manual every week...and as I said...I am not home...therefore can't reference it right now. Once again...seems silly to scold someone for a repost or not searching or not reading thier manual. Why not just offer some help??? I think that you could have just suggested for me to check my manual that would've been fine. The attitude and the "F" in your reply was totally unnecessary.
