50hp gain?
50hp gain?
Is there a cheap way to gain about 50 hp. Im sure it requires many parts but let me know what is the cheapest way to gain some damn hp. My car is to slow. Besides a turbocharger or supercharger.

I dunno.....
I was going to buy a 5.0 mustang convertible here in Houston, and I test drove it and it flat out SUCKED.
It WOULD NOT peel out unless I powerbraked it, and even then it was pulling forward for about 5 seconds before the tires broke loose.
It was a dud I'm sure but by NO means are they the fastest.
I test drove a newer 4.6 and it was a bit better but by no means blazing.
I think they are fast cars, but I only considered getting one till I actually drove a few(four).
It just doesnt have that jer-you-in-the-seat feeling that a $20,000+ car should.(It was brand new)
Now I might have bought a used one if the price was right, but I wanted something new because you never know what a car has been through, and the warranty never lasts.
Listen to me, like I deep down give a damn about a warranty.
If I has a SF Turbo kit sitting in front of me right now, I would be heading outside right now to put it on (3:00 AM right now)
Fact is, I'm jealous...my cars slow.
sob.

Where did you test the 5.0 at. Performance mustangs. 5.0 were the strongest mustangs produced, but also there power has gone down if there is alot of miles on it.
Back in 92 I had an 88 5.0 GT. That thing would tear the rear tires loose without even dumping the cluth. Seriously I could be rolling at around five miles an hour and just stomp the go pedal. The rear end would spool right up and and I could slide that *** out. YOU DROVE A DUD. I bought it used and it probably had alittle work done to it but it was nasty fast. It was also a scary car to drive at it's limits. I remember doing around ninety around a bumpy corner and having the *** end dancing out with each bump. You want to talk about white knuckles? So in summary, fast car that was lousy if the surface was rough. My next car was a honda (with independant rear suspension).

WOOoo. My friend just bought a 5.0 mustang and is modding the crap out of it right now. He says he'll be pushing 600hp if he rebuilds the engine, but I think it's a lie. Anyways, it'd tear me and my civic up.

Yeah the extra .4 displacement gives it an edge, but the ones I have driven werent all that fast, BUT they were all stock except one, which was actually pretty scray, but for the money he put into it I wouldnt want it.
BUT any 5.0 is going to smoke the average Civic.

what if the civic was a 5.0, that would make one powerful civic. If I had the money, i would buy a 2003 cobra, they look sweet, but only had 17000 to buy my civic in 2002.

the thing that gives the 5.0 the biggest edge is the push-rod style engine as to compared with the 4.6 modular. i had a 2000 mustang gt, it hauled *** compared to my civic, majorly. 5.0s are much slower stock on stock to the modular 4.6's but the 5.0s are one of the easiest modded engines in exsistance. major horsepower for not much money.

How much is the complete SF turbo kit? I think if I save up my money for the next few months, I will have around 3 grand. Turbo would be nice. Can you get a BOV on a automatic, and would it sound good?
