spark plugs
OK guys,
I think we all know that according to the owners manual, our civics are only supposed to require full tune ups at 100k miles under normal driving conditions. However I have a 2001 ex with almost 33k on it, I live in Florida where its hot and I drive it fairly hard on a regular basis. I was considering replacing my plugs and cleaning my airfilter because the engine's throttle repsonse is starting to lag a little. Are you guys, or have any of you replaced your plugs despite manfacturers recommendations?

IF YOU PLAN ON GETTING NEW PLUGS GO AHEAD AND GET SOME IRIDIUM SPARK PLUGS IF NOT JUST GO AHEAD AND JUST CLEAN YOUR OEM PLUGS AND FOR THE FILTER JUST GO AHEAD AND GET A K&N IF YOU DONT HAVE A CAI OR SRI SO YOU CAN JUST CLEAN IT WHENEVER YOU FEEL LIKE IT.. ITS BETTER TO DO THINGS EARLIER THAN LATER THAN WHAT THE MANUFACURER SAYS..

meh its not worth it to get the denso iridiums... $$$
spending more than 14 bucks on a SET of spark plugs is sorta mental. heh.
our stock plantiums are expensive as hell too.
for me, I'm going to try $2.5 NGK plantiums that has the proper gap... and maybe, maybe, the $7 (each) NGK iridiums (hell lot cheaper than denso)
a filter swap right now would be a good idea... if ur spark plugs are good when u check them (ie: proper gap 1.0 to 1.3 mm, replace if worn or over 1.3 mm) search online for comparison pics... to see if there's possibly anything wrong with ur engine...
if u're still running stock intake... I recommend you grab a K&N drop in filter at this point then instead of buying another stock filter. the K&N drop in is reusable and washable.
