Hello,
Here's my situation... I have the SF kit and my cat went bad on me. What would the differences be if I just bored out the cat or got a new hi-flow cat/mid pipe?

boring out the cat would make airflow very good for the turbo which means maybe you can run more psi but I wouldn't without internals first, if you dont have internals its better to get hi flow cat which would cause some restriction but not always.

Yah like adding the turbo made him even more legal? Uhm no, if you're not in cali or some other car-dummy state then ya shouldn't worry about emmisions

I'm currently suspecting my cat is out too... or rather, clogged... causing excessive backpressure and the car can't speed up or lags or stalls sometimes.
this happens when theres low fuel in the car... and overall performance is greatly decreased too..
the exhaust gas shoudlnt' have been hot enough to do that... I think most cause of cat clogging is cause by the engine running too rich.... and excessive unburnt fuel reachs to the cat, and burns up there.. melting the catalyic....
I duno why its very evident when the car is low on fuel... for me it might be other problems, such as fuel filter clogged... was ur problem more evident during low fuel in the tank?
u should probably make sure u're not running too rich or lean...
what caused my problem was a leak in my exhaust manifold gasket, and I think it was constantly running rich for a long time... eventually killing the cat.
and if u can bore out the cat.. then do that. no point spending the moeny on a mid pipe if u can just clear the cat.
