Unhappy 2nd gear

Latley I have been driving down the road, and when I shift into second gear, the shifter pops out of gear. And will not go back into gear untill I shift in another gear. Please help.

I already 37,000 miles on it, and I have a DC sport short shifter.

Try first lubricating the cables at the transmission. Maybe you'll get lucky and the shift cable is just binding a little. If that's not it, then it's the tranny per hoda's TSB.

Had the same problem with mine. Mine happened more often when it was over 90 degrees out. Kept getting worse and eventually started popping out of 5th too. Took it to a Honda dealer and after 2 months of waiting for parts they replaced the cables and bushings. Parts were on back order because it is a common problem. Car has only 20K so it was covered under warranty.

I have 35k. I can still go to honda and get them to fix it? Right? My 2nd pops out ever now and then. Its more when I get ready to shift out of the gear that it pops out.

There's a TSB for 2nd gear problems (check the Stickies at the top of this forum) ... make a copy and be sure to show that to your dealer .

Standard Warranty is 3 yrs/36k miles unless you've purchased additional warranty. Get it in soon and report it before 36k limit.

Yeah I did take in the TSB and show it to them. THe work they did though was not related to the TSB. Now the shifts fell much firmer and tighter than before.
