wiring rear turn signal lights to stay on
wiring rear turn signal lights to stay on
I'm not sure if this is the write forum to put this on.
Can anyone tell me a way to keep my rear turn signal lights on so it will just start blinking when I use the turn signals.
Like the turn signals in the headlights, they stay on and starts blinking when I signal.

That is definatly more complicated then just putting in a dual filament bulb. It can be done but you have to do some serious wiring. Unless you know a lot about that stuff, I say stay clear.

its basically the same with the blinkers in the front, they are dual filament stock, i changed mine to single and now it only turns on when I put the blinker. Very simple just change the bulbs.

There are a couple of ways to do this, and one does not require a dual filament bulb at all. Basically all you would need is a relay and to do some rewiring back there. You're gonna have to know some wiring stuff to do this. If you do it like this it will basically be on all the time and then just blink when you put the blinker on, and turn completely off and on during the blinking sequence( not like the stock front blinker where it blinks brighter and not as bright)

Ok, let's say I want my rear turn signals to be just like the front ones. (stays on and just get brighter, dims, and brightens and so on......)
So all I'll need is replace stock with a dual filament bulb?
Is there a dual filament bulb available that will fit in the stock turn signal harness?
I'm not really fond of messing with the car's wiring, so I'm trying to do this the easy and safe way.
BTW, thanks for ALL your replies.

replacing the bulb with dual filament WILL NOT work at all, because there's no current going in to the bulbs when the blinkers is not on, you need the wire that current to the dimmer second filament
I have a dual filament on my turn signal, but haven't done the rewiring yet
