just messed around with the STI
and i gotta tell you, as soon as i can i'm gassin the vic and buying one of those. those cars are unreal, no words can desribe them. sittin in it is undesribeable, the guage cluster alon in that car is better than my entire car as a whole. the seats are more comfortable than my 5 year old hoody sweater. and the sound it makes, the exhaust practicaly tells you to hammer the pedal to the floor, my god what a car.

im not to sure if the normal wrx can simply "walk" over the rsx-s especially a nicely modded rsx-s engine... (just defending myself)
but th 15g's extra for an sti over the rsx-s... well worth it...
no mod's required...

people are simply crazy. they rag on civics for being crappy and say go get an rsx it is better...well ya...and if we ALL had the extra 10,000 plus insurance...... Now people are saying pass on the rsx and get an sti.....at this rate no one will own a car till there 40 and it will be a mclaren, ferrari, or aston martin......come on guys....an rsx with the extra 15,000 in mods will smoke a stock sti....a civic with 10,000 dollars in mods will smoke an rsx..... HELLO
i seen done up audi a4 1.8T smoked STi and EVO before
it's all about how deep your pocket
heck, u can spend so much money on the 7th gen to smoke the STi
but i do have to agree with profurious that it is a sexy car and fast as hell

Yeah, but if we all had that mentality, then none of us would be driving a Civic. We'd all own oldschool Camaros & Stangs that could be had for $3,000 and mod them. For about $10,000 (about half price of new Civics), you can have yourself a 11 or 12 sec car, that will rape some Ferraris.
But there's more than just performance to owning a car.. there's full factory warrenty... pretiege... luxery.. safety.. convenience.. comfort.. reliability.. appearance.. and individuality.
Having said that, I think the RSX-S is a good buy compared to the STi. If you ask a normal joe on the street, he'll claim that ACURA is more prestegious than a SUBARU. The STi, of course, is a rockstar among us ricers. But if you actually look inside the dashboard of a WRX, it's cheap-o looking compared to the RSX-S. $45,000 gets you a LOT of speed, but most people buy it for just for the fact that it's a limited edition STi.
Besides, if I had 45 Big Ones to drop on a car, I'd be behind the wheels of an Infinity G35 rather than an STi. An STi will always be just an Impreza (a base car made to compete with Civics and Elantras). A G35 has links to the 350Z and Skyline in Japan. It's got 30 less horsepower, and is heavier, but it's more of REAL CAR than STi ever will be.

Yeah 350Z's quick nice, the looks are growing on me everyday.
But to drive a nice car though (like STi, 350Z, Vettes, etc), you GOTTA have money. I mean, not just money for the car. You gotta worry about insurance, gas, maintenance bills (how much oil change on a bimmer?), and you gotta have a second car to boot. Not to mention your own secure garage.
Unless your daddy luvs you very much and spoils you like crazy

Safety - i dont think the sti has anything on the civic in safety other than maybe shear weight
prestiege - i would sooner own the hottest civic then a stock sti
convenience - dont know what that means really???
reliablity - something more reliable than a HOnda....unless it says volvo i dont buy it
appearence - a matter of taste but for say 8000 of that doe you could add rims, a kit, fender flares, spoiler, hood, carbon anything....basically make it hot as hell, and sti' s are kinda fugly
interior - for 3000 you could have a smoking interior better than anything an sti can offer
performance - you got 4000 left....not to much really but with that you could add on some nitrous and beat an sti or you could take 1000 each from the outside and inside (still being able to beat an sti in appearnce...and have 6000 for a turbo setup with extra goodies
i have more respect for the guys that tune and upgrade there early 90's civics to works of art than some guy rolling around in a stock porshe.....money means nothing, its the drive and the dedication that make you a tuner

appearance - again its a matter of opinion
prestiege - how HOT can a civic be?its still a civic
Safety - at least sti handle much better and brake faster (stock)
reliability - just dont get a ford
interior - again matter of taste
performance - theres no way just nitrous can make our civic faster than sti unless u put 150 shots at least which is impossible (even with internals engine still blow in a sec), dont even have to say a 6k turbo setup, nor any turbo setup for the d17
an sti can be done up as nice if u have money, its just a matter of opinion
i still love my civic

if you talk to redivc i beleive he spent $11000 on his turbo set up, and there was no way that was faster than an sti. i dont even think you could build a civic engine up to match the sti, it wouldn't handle it, the only way you could get a vic to match the power af an sti is to do a k20 swap, cha ching. and as for style, have you seen the interior of the sti, man i have seen cars featured in mags and on tv that aren't that nice, and the exterior, well hell, stock 17"bbs rims, 12.4" & 12.1" brembo disc's, and dont forget the front bumper, and wing. i love my vic, but man it doesn't even compare with the sti.
