stock- less hp, u dont spend ne money
S.R.I- some hp, no hydrolock possible, about 150
C.A.I- more hp then sri and stock, hydrolock if filter is fully submerged.. get a bypass valve, about 200+
.. the engine doesnt blow up, it juss stops workin, the engine is tryin to compress water instead of air to combust the fuel with...

as for hydrolock, the intake filter has to be submerged in water for this to happen.
i have a cai and i live in california and hadn't had any problems during rain storms, just stay away from big puddles
i also had an injen short ram intake, nice to look at under the hood but i love the sound of cold air intake at WOT, i can't get enough of it.
just replace the stock intake, its really simple and you'll enjoy the sound!

I had an SRI, got LESS power driving below 4k rpm. Now my stock intake is back on and I'm happy with it. I think intakes don't do much for our cars in general. Stay stock, or buy a K&N OEM filter for better airflow. Oh and my SRI was loud!
