Traffic ticket advise
Re: Traffic ticket advise
I live in PA, got a ticket in NY for inadequate muffler, even tho the car is register and inspected in PA, and the exhaust is part of the PA inspection whereas NY should have no say about it, unless I was being loud in town or such. I was going 35 in 5th and could barely hear it myself.
Sent in the fix-it ticket, got it back in the mail, forgot to put the date on it, didn't get it back to them in time. So i just ignored it. 2 months later get a paper to plead guilty and pay $70, plead not guilty and go to court, or plea not guilty with a short reasoning of why my ticket should be dropped.
I explained about it being Insp. and registered in PA and that NY should have no right to ticket me.
Now I have to pay $80

Excellent question sent private message.
Tickets like this I call volentary tax they cost more to fight it. The laws among states are not uniform first off. It would make sense if all laws were uniform. The cop would have to testify how he figured out that ur muffler was too loud. This would seem to be set against a standard that the cop won't be able to meet. You could more than likely argue successfully in court that this ticket is not valid. Unfortunately goota tell u just paint it is your best option unless u don't care how much it will cost you in time to fight it.
It won't effect ur insurence rates, on a good note if you pay it.

Re: Traffic ticket advise
but would you not agree that it does sound very suspicious, especially with a dedicated username like that?
