Today going back to work from my lunch break I pull up to a light and am sitting there looking over I see two staties in an abandonded parking lot adjacent to the light. Looking down I realize that I don't have a seatbelt on and say Oh f*ck. Looking straight ahead saying please don't pull out and follow me I hear a knock on my window. One of the staties got out his car walked onto the main road I was on knocked on my window and motions for me to pull into the lot. Then he gets in his car with his partner and hauls off doing 90 with the lights on nad the other trooper that was in an suv proceeds to ask for my reg and liscense so i give him it with the issurance card and he says I don't need that. The last two time si got pulled over the cops say that same thing. But the time I didn't give my insurance card i get a ticket because even though he did't ask for it I should havve produced it anyway(so now anytime I get yanked i give my insurance card) ANyway he comes back with a ticket for no seatbelt and another for my exhaust. I told him that its an 0riganal equipement replacement that all origanal equipment including my cat conv. and origanal header are intack and that it is under the db level for my town and state. He says thats not true and to plead not guilty and go to court. Anway Im in ny and have a skunk2(with silencer in tip). ANybody know how to beat this ticket? ANyway The trooper also did not get my name right on the tickets(Im the 2nd and he did not put that)Can I get off on these tickets because of that-somone told me that if anything on the ticket is wrong like name addy and soone you can get it dismissed. ANy help will be appreciated. thanks

The name part, I don't think you can win.
The seat belt is the same, you can beat the exhaust ticket !
Since they arent moving violations and don't go against your record, just pay em. Its way cheaper than fighting them with a lawyer.

Im still going to go to court and fight it by myself. A guy I work with was at court getting his exhaust ticket thrown out while I was getting mine. On the way back to work the same trooper that gave him the ticket that just got thrown out pulled him over again said "well look who it is" and gave him another exhaust ticket. My buddy went to court said look my exhaust is an origanal equipment replacement not oem but I still retain all my stock parts(resonator, cat. conv. , header) it is a system designed for my car is 100 % bolt on and well within the db regulations of this town and state, furthermore the ticketing officer did not have a db meter to test the db. I mean when I got that ticket in goshen I talked to a statie that my friend nows(he knows alot of them-sells nextels to all of em-he had a worked 7thgen til it got totaled) and he said The officer wrote you for your exhaust you werent speeding -no just my exhaust and he said what a d*ck so I asked him how come I never get hasseld around here-Cause we have better things to worry about than an exhaust. So I guess I just got hassled by an ******* or it was the end of the month. I guess there are some troopers round here that don't care and others that hate imports. Its funny how you never see a old school rod or muscle car with straight pipes getting a ticket only the imports. Evryone in ny should go to sema.org and check out what laws these elected officails are trying to pass. They are trying to ban spinner hubcaps I mean come on next we won't be able to do anything to are cars. ALot of other states are trying to ban exhaust sales and instalations all together(mass. pa. georgia I think). WHen I get some money Im gonna join Sema action network and sema cause this is just getting out of control. Alot of us import enthuisists are tax paying law abiding citezens so why do they continue to treat us like criminals-Sorry if I went off on a tagent but Im so sick of people telling me what I can and can't do to my car. Its my car as long as it passes inspection leave me the f*ck alone.

To my knowledge, at least in AZ not wearing seatbelt isnt cause to pull someone over.

You need to ask if modding your exhaust is the reason for the cite or if its got to be below a certain Db level only...

Missing the 2nd on your name wont change anything in court.

Just produce your insurance card at court and explain what happened.

did not know that, the trooper that pulled me over didn't even give me the ticket. He took off after somone else doing 90 with the lights flashing. THe trooper that wrote me the ticket asked if I knew why i was pulled over, I said seatbelt and he went to go write the ticket. THen he came back with the exhaust one and I tried calmly arguing with him. Well today I went to my local deli(in there all the time-actually where I was coming from when I got the ticket) and A guy that works there is retired nypd and said he saw me pulled over and was going to talk to the trooper but he was on a delivery. He said get the troopers name with copy of summons so he could call and talk to him to see what he could do for me. See not all cops are bad so hopefully My buddy can get me out of this or work something out. If that doesn't work I'm gonna plead guilty to the seat belt and not guilty to the inadequate muffler and fight that one.
