Florida Police pose as someone else to catch speeders
i was watching maxxium or some show broadcasted on spike tv, they had an clip where police in florida were posing as a mechanic, electrical repairer, all those other ordinary occupations us humans have. they showed a clip where an undercover officer was pretending to fix his car on the side of the road with the hood open and his radar pointing towards traffic to catch speeders. then he would notify his partner on the walkie talkie to describe the vehicle and get him/her.
same goes to the electricity repairer... the undercover was on one of those cherry pickers? pretending to fix the electrical cords on the trees, but hes really aiming a radar down the road to catch speeders. then he notifys his partner to pull the vehicle over.
i think its just like those traffic cameras (highway robbery http://www.ticketassassin.com/autoenf_toc.html ). i see the purpose of this whole plan was to catch speeders > cite more tickets > revenues are stable > officer keeps his job. the most used reason... "you are breaking the law".
i hate to see todays law enforcement agencies work like this... more traffic tickets than real real crime.

good........there are too many idiots on the roads these days. I have actually witnessed ppl eating a bowl of cereal, reading the newspaper and worse of all......talking on the cell phone while driving. I hate driving down the road and whenever someone sees a cop car they immediately slam on the brakes. People need to stop being lazy and stop speeding cuz they are late for something.

^^ I really hate when people slam on their brakes cuz a cop is 10 feet away. Not like the cop didnt already get their speed a half mile ago. THan people almost cause an accident. If I notice Im going 5, very rarely 10 over and there is a cop, I continue with my speed. If people slam on the brakes, they know they were doing something illegal, all the more reason to get pulled over.

I agree with jttegx on this. The police today are going way too far to bust people for little to nothing. If youre going 20 over the speed limit, drinking and driving, or something like that its understandable but i dont believe they should be able to stop and ticket me for something like a seatbelt violation or "illegal equipment" because i want to do a little work to my car. Go catch someone robbing a store or smoking crack, leave me alone, im going 10 over the speed limit...the only car on the road....whats the problem? The problem is as he described, more tickets=more money for the city=more officers=more tickets etc etc etc.

It's true, there's also a cop around here that has a mustang, yellow in color and blacked out widnows who crusies the highways looking for races... don't ask me how I know.. I have connections lol. Supprisingly your story is not an uncommon site. In my area of FL they actually started driving unmarked minivans around neighboor hoods, parked on the side of the roads catching speeders... FL is desperate I tell you, we have a very high racing percentage according to the police, so I can't say I blame them. I will share one story though, it was about 12 pm, mightnight and we flew by this unarked truck cop, so we see him get out in his review mirror and wave his arms at us... guess there's not much he can do when we were doing about 100 in the pitch black on an empty stretch of road. I'll admit it, I speed, but only when there's no traffic. The last thing I need is an accident/traffic death on my hands. I say it sucks police hace to go to these lengths.. but there's a reason for everytihng.

Entrapment is illegal.....but what they are doing is no considered entrapment. It is basically the same thing as undercover officers posing as hookers.
They did it her in fort worth last year. They posed as construction workers. But they showed it on the news. They interviewed cops and what not. It was no secret that they did it. But still at the end of the weekend they gave out hundreds of tickets. It was only a 3 day weekend thing. They havent done it since.
