Last week, I got pulled over for speeding by a state trooper. He scoped out my ride noticed the exhaust & the blue sidemirror leds. He didn't say anything about them. He gave me my fine & went on his way.
However, Last night I'm driving through Brick and i get pulled over again.
The cop says that my aftermarket exhaust & my blue side markers are illegal. I told the cop that it wasn't a problem & that I'll unplug the wire to the mirrors now. He still gave me a summons anyway. So now I've gotta go to court for that. Does anyone have any pointers on what to say? Or like is it wise to put the silencer in my muffler just in cAse they demand I go get it decibel tested? Although he didn't say anything about the decibels. He just flat out said it was illegal. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

in virginia an aftermarket exhaust is illegal no matter how big, loud, etc. it is. If it is ur first offense, if you show the judge that you removed or "fixed" your LED light, he should drop it for u.

I never got stopped before about my car. But for some reason lastnight I did. My car as been this way for quite a while. Oh well I'll just put the stock mirrors on.
first things first, go check to see whats the legal DB limit in your state and proof the exhaust passes emissions (if your requires it). also the blue led side mirror lights. in most states, blue leds on mirrors are illegal, white/yellow/red seem to be fine.
if you signed the ticket and it says you promise to appear in court. thats just saying you will goto the court house to get your citation taken care of... not actually apear in a court room to a judge. the first appearance is just getting things settled. if your gonna fight the ticket (which i recommend you do), you will get a date by the court clerk on your FIRST court appearance (which is just going to the courthouse and goto the counter).
i can assure that it is a fix-it citation? if so, remove leds and put stock exhaust back on, and just pay the fees.

but do that, just pop em out or take em off when you get there, than reinstall them again. But youll get pulled over for it again. so be careful, or switch to white/amber/yellow bulbs.
