info on appealing for ticket
got a ticket for red light on 3/25/05 and its past due for 4/25/05. i still havent recieved the mail notice til this day, neither it is in the courthouse system records.
i have been going to the oakland courthouse every week or 2 to check if it was on the system yet and they keep telling me to come back 2 weeks later. it says im suppose to appear on 4/25/05 and i did but never discussed it with anybody since it wasnt in the system yet. now that its past due, can i still be able to contest it or request written declaration?
i also have a paper that the court gave me for everytime i visited the courthouse to check up on the ciatation. the clerk would date it and sign it as well to show proof of history record. it shows i have attempted to follow up the ciation on
-3/30/05
-4/19/05
-4/25/05
-5/10/05
and it says to come back in 2 weeks after the 5/10 was signed by the clerk

thats odd, here in cali u go once before the ticket date, make appointment to fight it, then you go to court the day they give you an appoinment and if the cop shows up you plead no contest and take traffic school, if the cop does NOT show up, you simply get your money back for the ticket that you have paid for.

How much is the ticket worth? Also, I am suprised that the ticket still made it to the docket considering your court date has already expired. One thing you can do is see if they notify your of your court date via mail. If not keep your records of appeariong for court with you along with your citation copy and hope it gets dismissed. They should technically notify you by mail of a new court date for appearance, if not then that is their fault. You could always wait to see what happens, unless they are aware you know when the hearing date is?

the notice came to my mail yesterday.
i went to the courthouse and gave my bail amount as im contesting the violation by written declaration. on my reciept, it says its due on 6/20...weird. but will i be getting another notice that will let me know my final due date for me to submit my written declaration? and will i need to make any court appearances eventho im contesting it by written declaration?
