wat mods can i do to not void warranty
I'm trying to do some mods on my 05 Civic but trying to not void warranty that my parents got on the car. anyone know what mods i can or cannot do and what # i can call to find out these things myself if i had to? I noe so far that i cant really do exhaust(i think not 100% sure). I'm gonna try plannin on doin CAI, strut bars(front and rear), mayb lowering, trying to find OEM Lip kit(Def not gonna void warranty), and mayb exhaust if possible. just let me know wat i can or cannot do and this will help me get goin on my car.
Crack kills... But then again... So do I...

As far as I know all that will not void your warranty. Just be careful on what you do to the engine aspect. I think that's the main thing that will void your warranty. Other than that, go ahead and do as many exterior mods as you want. My uncle works for a honda dealer down here so I can find out what parts void your warranty.

cool that would b the greatest thing that you can do for me and most pplz who want to know what might void their warranties. i might go ahead nd see if i can get those intakes from the Honda Parts department as long as those are good. i just need to do something to the car cause im gettin bored.
i know that this has been posted a while back. but what i know is that any kind of heavy modifications to your engine and suspension meaning by boreing out or port and polishing your engine will void the warrenty. but intake or exhaust wont. and your suspension it would be like modifying your struts like the koni setup will as well.
ok first off search, there are dozens of threads bout this already, secondly IF you would have searched you would have found out nothing voids your warranty unless there is a problem with that certain part of the car. like lets say something goes wrong with ur intake manifold, and you have a cai, then ur fuc*ed. unless you have honda install it...which they will charge a fortune.
if its a direct bolt on and can be put back to stock, it wont void warranty. however, most dealerships are **** about mods, so most will tell you that an intake will void warranty just because its not OEM.
so if you bring your car in with an intake, exhaust and dropped. Honda WILL tell you your waranty is not voided because they will give you bs like "the intake caused your engine to fail" "the exhaust is what fcuked up your tranny" etc etc. they give you bs like that.
there was a member "grlracer" ? i forgot her username, but honda voided her warranty for her transmission because she had bolt on mods (intake/dropped) and told her they wont warranty her tranny because the intake caused it. turns out she had to pay the $4g out of her own pocket to replace her tranny. im not sure if she really did or not tho, but that was her situation.
so be very careful and think before modding your car. most ppl find it best to install the mods and just remove them back to the OEM equipment when the car ever gets serviced by Honda themselves or brought in for warranty related work. not sure if you should remove the bolt on mods if just going in for oil change tho.

the cel will go back off immediately or after couple miles of driving, just put that IAT sensor back into the bung and your fine.

You know i had a problem with my warrenty being voided, The syncros failed because i "pushed the engine harder than it was designed" or some bs like that. At least thats what honda said. Granted i had headers, Intake, and a muffler*not exsaust system* bolted up. That was it. So i was like F this, im not paying 1500 to get it fixed. Went back to my house, threw the stocker stuff back on, took it in and said i was having problems. Fixed it for free. Freaking honda. I swear. Granted i should have just saved the money, and put it towards my new k20 i just bought. lol. Oh and a word to the wise, if you have an cold air intake buy the damb air bypass vavle. It will save you for when you get that unfortunate HYDROLOCK. hince why im forking over 7'g's for an new k20. lol f - the d17. mu ha ha ha ha
