i got a ticket.. 10over..

80.50+class

i took class..

i go to call to pay for ticket and its not in computer or on file at all...

due date for payment is friday (4th)

shes like call me friday and we'll check...

so if i call fri and its on file then.. then i have 0 days to get it to them... they do it on arrival date and not postmarked date.. i was gonna pay w/ credit card. s idk

what do i do.. if its not on file AT ALL how can they tell me i need to pay it

it wouldnt be a stolen summons book. summons/traffic tickets all have numbers on them, identification numbers, so if they were stolen, and someone did indeed write you a ticket, when it was sent in and the clerk or someone in the department who handles traffic tickets punched in that particular summons number it would probably pop up stolen. i would bet that someone just screwed up entering information in the computer. you shouldnt have to pay for someone elses mistake. as far as payment just keep a record whether it be reciepts or what in case it comes back to bite you in the a@@.

Just keep checking in with them. if not by friday, call them up and ask them about it. the secretary can't give you a ticket, so if it's not in they shouldn't be able to do much. that would be sweet if the ticket was stolen. there was a few cops when I was at SIUC who busted out approx 75 underage drinkers at the bar and put all the tickets in a stack after issuing them. one dude got up and took the whole stack and ran out the door like a bat out of hell. worked, they didn't catch him and nobody got a ticket. one brave guy. people owe him a drink
