need legal help plz

its not really a legal issue but i need help getting my car warrantied. i guess i ripped all the teeth out of reverse in my car and its only 4 months old (please dont ask how) and we took it to the honda dealership and they said no problem we'll get it in right away so left it there thinking theyd put a new reverse in it but they called back later and we went down there and they said they would try to get it warrantied by blaming it on a loose bolt or somthing like that then last night they called back and said it would cost 2200$! and that they would only pay for 700 of it so that leaves us with the other 1500. i think thats total bullshit. i think the pricing is WAY out of proportion but my parents are like shut up plus i think they should have to pay for it. can anyone help

Are you bringing it to the place you bought it? If so first talk to the salesperson who sold you the car. If that gets you nowhere talk to the manager. Be polite with them, don't tell them what happened (if it was your fault), just play dumb. Stand firm, find the warranty info and point out they legally are obligated to fix the problem at no cost to you
If they still will not warrant it, I would call Honda, or get an attorney. In a bad faith case like this you can usually get attorney's fees from them if you win.

BTW where in SD are you?

This is in no way any legal advice, just general advice which I am in no way liable for. If you want legal advice please consult an attorney.
