Need help on Court Appearence

Hey everyone,

On August 27, I got pulled over by police and they wrote me a ticket for:

Civil Infraction: Disregard Red Light: (3) pts. $95
Misdemeanor: Excessive Noise/Squealing Tires: (3) pts. $95

I have a court appointment tomarow at 9am, what should I tell the judge, and do I have any hope?

P.S. I already have (2) pts. on my record

Thanks Everyone

yes please explain this more. You pretty much just said what you got ticketed for, but didnt tell us exactly what happened.

And depending on how your courts are, you might talk to the prosecutor first.
But if you are guilty of both, get defensive driving for the running a light ticket, and see if they will dismiss the other.

Ok..here goes the story.

I was at a stop sign, I maid a left turn while squeeling my tires, as soon as I squeeled the tires, I seen the cop in my rear view mirror ( dont ask why I didnt see him before doing this ) , then he turned on his flickers and in the process of me pulling over on the side of the road, he said I blew a red light. Which In my own eyes, there was no way for me to pull over on the side of the road without going through the light and the speed I was traveling, apprx. 50mph. As soon as he turned his lights on, I immediately pulled over, and doing so I must of ran the light..but I was unaware of that, and more focused on getting on the side of the road.

yea man, tell the judge the story u just told us, he'll probably dismiss teh red light cus thats bull ****, but the squeeling tires part idk about. Neither of the things u did are that big of a deal. if u have a manual, tell the judge u shifted wrong or u popped the cluth by mistake.

i agree with the shift wrong story. as for the red light, you can talk to the prosecuter who will then plea it down to "obstruction of an intersection" which is a no point ticket. good luck and keep that **** off the streets.

Be lucky thats all you got for spinning the tires. A friend of mine got reckless driving for it, in the end he was allowed defensive driving though b/c the judge realized it too harsh of a punishment. (and he's cool about most things)

thanks everyone so far, hopefully the judge will listen to my case. I think im just going to tell him the truth about popping the clutch and just let him know i was so concerned with getting to the side of the road that I ran the light without evening knowing, and seeing if he can do anything for me to keep the points off my record.

you won't be talking to the judge, you will be talking to the prosecuter. the only thing you will be saying to the judge is guilty or not guilty.

Keeping on topic, I never had that many problems with tickets. I spun my tires, cop pulled me over I turned it in and went to the court house. The magistrate told me to get the hell out and never come back again,,,,,,,didn't pay a dime.

they honestly dont give a **** why you did it. But explain it to the prosecutor, and if you think things are unfair, then plead not guilty and get a lawyer.
