Ticket for HTA 144(18)-red light, fail to stop

I got the ticket in Brampton by an OPP officer. It was 3am on a friday mourning. it was dark and coming off the hwy410 I didnt see any cars in all directions except a couple cars behind me which I am sure that werent cops. One was a Integra that was closing in on me. Anyways, as I came to the light I checked and then I double checked and there I go, around the turn(without stopping ofcourse). 300m down I got stopped at a red and I see a cop coming at me. We both wait til its green and go and then he pulls me over right when I pass the light. He asked if the guy in the Integra was my friend becasue he saw how he was driving.

Anyways, what kind of defense can I use for this ticket?

I am truely convinced if I tried to stop for the light in the way I was driving, the black integra would rear end me.

can anyone help? i've been driving for like 7 years and this is my 2nd ticket. First one is minor(less then 15km/h over). which I paid without trial becasue I know I was guilty.

I dont mind the ticket cost, I dont mind paying it. I just dont want points on my record.

Is there anything I can do or say?

Narc.....please help!

You still ran the red light :P

Your best option and one that is little known is Option 4, on your ticket there will likly be three options

option 1: Plea of guility (stupidest thing you can do)
option 2: Plea of guility with explanation (even dumber, nobody cares ticket sticks)
option 3: Trial (if you choose this option you stand a chance of the cop not showing, or as soon as you get the prosecutor will offer you a deal, be careful about those deals, sometimes they may lower the offence but still nab you with points. Otherwise stand trial and see what happens
OPTION 4: this is a new option and is NOT printed on most tickets if you go to to the courts at University and Edward st second floor, you can have a "informal meeting with the prosecutor" where a deal can be made, a deal will be offered and you can either take it, not take it and go to trial or not take it and pay the ticket (plea of guilty)

go down to the edward st provincial prosecutors office and file for option 4, the interview option they will know what your talking about
