Traffic School

Well, looks like I'm a complete dumbass, and have the worst luck ever.

I'm a dumbass because at age 20 i still speed like a mad man at times.

Worst luck ever because i got a ticket on a road in Martinez, that usually, has around 5 max, mostly going the opposite direction.

Today was just like every other run i make up there, no cars on my side, 3 going the opposite direction. Its a two lane unidvided highway, speed limit is 55, im going 75 to 80... the straight that i am on turns into a hill and my torqueless wonder drops my speed to about 75, before i can drop gear a cop comes over the hill and hits his barkes fairly hard. I pull to the side after a couple of seconds. Ticket 76 in a 55.

I need to call to get traffic school setup for a ticket i got a year and a half ago, and would like to go to court and ask for traffic school for this ticket. Anyone know what to say so i dont sound like a stupid rice kid, or as if im pleading for my life. I just want to request traffic school for this ticket and hopefully get it from the judge. I have 2 tickets on my record, one i can do school for, and i really dont want 2 points again.

Thanks if any of you read it

How have you gone so long with a ticket from a yr. and a half ago?

Anyway, you can only do defensive driving 1 time a yr. So pick one of those tickets and ask for defensive driving. Now on the other ticket, ask to be put on defered adjudication. What this will do is they will put you on driving probation for a certain amount of time, and during that time, you can't get any tickets, and if you complete the probation, they will dismiss the ticket. You will still have to pay court costs and a small part of the fine cost. I cant remember exactly how much of the fine you pay, but it wont go on your record. If you do get a ticket in that period of time, they will revoke the probation, and a conviction will be entered and then you will have to pay the total amount of the fine. These are your options if you dont want anything going on your record.

Now do you have already 2 tickets on your driving record, or do you mean that these are the 2 tickets you still have to deal with? Because you said you have 2 tickets on your record, which means you cant do anything about those, they are on your record.

2 tickets. 1 from a year and a half ago, and 1 from about 6 months ago. Then this one. In a couple weeks i can do traffic school for the first ticket mentioned, from a year and a half ago, and then ill be back to 2 tickets... the 6 month one and todays. So my insurance shouldnt change all that much right, its still 2 points until i can take another ticket off and knock it down to 1.

Well if you are talking about 3 tickets, then 2 you can get dismissed with what I explained above. Here is my question, are these all in the same court? Because if they arent, you can ask one court for defered adjudication, and another court for it too. But if there all in one court, most likely one will go on your record. Unless you work out a deal with the prosecutor.

Well with what you said above, once a ticket goes on your record, there isnt anything you can do. Unless you can hold off for another yr, and then take defensive driving again. It seems like you can wait however long to deal with your tickets. A yr and a half is a long time.

But with any ticket going on your record, it will raise your insurance some, depedning on who you have depends on how much it goes up.

you got a ticket a year and a half ago, didn't pay for it. Then got another one a year later? There should have been a warrant out for your arrest. Plus you just got another one. Speeding in AZ is 3 points. 6 points = suspended license. I'm just wondering how you went so long with two outstanding tickets and they didn't say anything this last time you got pulled over. Unless it is totally different than AZ.

i got a ticket a year and a half ago, paid it, but insurance keeps my rates up because of it. Its been 18 months and i can do traffic school for the old ticket and get the point removed.

I am not sure how your court system works, but here once you pay a ticket, it goes on your record, and you cant do anything after it goes on there. So if that ticket is alreay on your record, you cant take defensive driving for it. I have never heard of anyone getting things removed from there driving record. Things will fall off your insurance after 3 yr. but not from the driving record. Might want to look into that.

yeah, I'm almost positive that you would only be able to take the class for the current ticket that you just got. The ticket you got 1 1/2 years ago can't be taken off once you already paid for it.
