Neons

I have heard that blue underbody neons are illegal and I was wondering If that was only if they could see the bulbs?

it's illegal if u drive with those neons turned on..........

from what i heard also, it's illegal if the neons are visible......

however, i think it's ok if you turn it on at a parking lot or someting like that...

parking lots are private property and yes it is legal for you to turn on neons in lots. all neon underbody kits are illegal to have on while driving. interior lights must be a certain color (blue isnt one of them, i think its yellow and red or something like that)

I think the big part of that is the color (you don't want to look like an ambulance, and have everyone pull over)

Why would people drive normally with those on? Maybe on a highway, but it's just a radar magnet, IMO

These laws are typically municipal codes i.e - they are city ordinances and very greatly by city. Your best bet is to ask a police officer, just call your local cop shop and ask the desk sergeant they should be able to answer you or put you in contact with someone who can.

I used to have blue neons completely hidden and got a ticket the first night driving. Depends on the state I guess. Some colors are legal in some states. In Illinois, ANY color is illegal.

They are only legal for off road use only. But not too many police really care. Blue and red are the 2 main colors you def. shouldn't get. It's the same as The old tinted light covers, loud harleys, It is all illegal but most towns and citys don't pay attention.

That is a very generic state code. Most larger cities have there own municipal codes that add on to the state code. I was serious when I said call your local PD they should be able to give you an answer. Most cops are very nice, if you treat them with respect they'll treat you the same.
