Rep Power: 0 How many times can I go to traffic school?
alright, I just got a speeding ticket (my second one). I went to traffic school for the first one which was about 4 years ago. Anyways, I know in CA I can go to traffic school every 18 months. My question is, is there a limit to how many times I can use traffic school to erase a speeding ticket in my lifetime? For some reason, I thought I heard you can only go 3 times in your life, but I can't seem to find any information about it online. Hope you guys can help.

Rep Power: 0 I went twice. The first was a 4 hour class, the second was a 8 hour class and the only way i could go again is if the judge gave me permission, but i didn't bother asking, i just paid the ticket.

Rep Power: 0 remember...the driving school will reduce points on your license (but only for a violation within the 18 months before the completion of the course) and give you a 10% (maybe more in other states) discount on insurance for next 3 years. however, the point systems differ for the dmv and insurance companies. your insurance is still going to increase due to the ticket and that 10% won't be a big savior, but it will be somewhat of a help.
just make sure you don't get 3 speeding tickets in 18 months... cuz then the driving school won't help (at least in NY where everything is wack)

Rep Power: 0 well, they raise your rates and that's why you take up the driving class to try and lower them back down ... the hike in the premium might be more than the discount offered though.
you won't end up paying that much more as long as you inform your insurance company that you completed the course. just remember though, the points/violations will still be on your insurance for 39 months. the points will be reduced on your license though...

heck, you can take the class even if you didn't get a ticket just to get the insurance discount.... that's if you feel like sitting through 6-8 hours of a boring class....

Rep Power: 0 i already took the class twice in 2 years so the only way i could take it again is if i asked the judge, but i decided since its my first ticket going on to my record, i wouldn't really worry about it.
