I got this ticket a little while back, I have already set my court date. Just to make this a little intresting I will tell you all my story

I was racing on a little rainy day with a Pontiac Sunflower when I had to turn off to go home, I noticed a SWATvan following me. All I said to my self was ****... not again. I have had too many problems with the law, not only traffic violations. Really, I didnt know what to expect. The cop pulls be over in this SWAT van and starts being a smart a$$. Starts telling me I was speeding and racing and not doing **** in safety. Not only did he stop but he called 1 other cop to be with him, and another one drove by when I got stopped. Well the long story is, he cut me down from 6 tickets to only 1.

Lane Change Not made in Safety.

Now the part I have to ask you guys... IF !! now only IF ! This guys comes to court, which I really dont think he will.. what can I really do to get off this ticket ?? I know I deserved it, but what can I say... stupid Sunflower was pissing me off..

Oh ya, I live In Ontario, Canada That should make a small diff....

I can almost guarantee he wont show up.

As for the second TAC/SWAT officer approaching and the other cruiser sliding by, that just what we do. Its just officer safety. Ill bet when the cruiser drove by, he gave the thums up to the TAC officer and he gave thumbs up right back. Its very common practice.

Thanks Narc, but IF !!! Very Iffy about this.. he does show up.. any way to maybe get off ? OH !! One thing I did forget to mention.

He not only gave me my copy the yellow one, but he gave me his copy, White with Law Enforement Copy written on top. The reason I took it to court was because I thought I could use that against him.

and Narc, I think this might sound stupid, but are you a cop ?

I cant see you being able to use his copy against him. My advice is request a copy of his notes. Opens the door to a lot of defence stratagies.

And yes, Im a Peel officer. into my 5th year now.

Try calling the Hensall court house (the number's on the back of the ticket) and ask how to request disclosure. Tell them you want to get a copy of the officers notes. they will assist you and guide you in the right direction. But do it soon. The sooner the better.

BTW, were all good people, we just have a job which requires us to make enemies! Dont hate the player, hate the game.

from my knowledge and experience...

you say you didnt have time to hit the indicator because an animal was on the road, or you thought there was an animal, or sthg was on the road and you thought it was an animal. and you only had time to indicate OR checked your blind spot and for the safetly of yourself and others, as well as the animal, you checked your Blind spot and changed lanes, saving the animals life.
thats how my uncle got out of his ticket a while back. you were being a good citizen basically!
maybe narc can tell you if that still works, cuz it worked for my uncle. the cop didnt remember any animal-cuz there was none. but he could not specifically remember 100% that an animal wasnt there. as well, his view was not good enough to see if there was indeed an animal.

but its not that I didnt signal, because I did ! I know I did.. I just changed the lane really fast.

I was going to tell me that there is a pot hole there.. which there really is.. and I give more of a right turn to avoid being caught in it. I did signal and I was not cutting anyone off... so in turn It was not an unsafe lane change or some BS like that... I will have to work on it But i have till May. I have 2 court cases in May each 2 days away.

i have my share of tickets... Ive been controlling my self pretty well from the speeding and dangerous driving. But something that day just made me loose control.. I dont need my insurance to go up anymore then it already is.

wel in calgary if u go to court you can cut a deal with the prosecuter so you get no demerits(what jumps are insurance) so is that the case? say youll pay the fine(which is what they want, your money) and skip the demerits since it doesnt help them out anyway

they do that here too.. but the insurance company doesn't look at your points but the amount of tickets... which I have a 15km/h over ticket which is no points but my insurance company still takes notice of it because it is a traffic violation.

ouch thats gay, ive even had one bad ticket and hasnt gone up(66 in a 30 playground zone) i guess we gte one chance and then it goes up the second ticket

wow.. thats a nasty ticket ! I never knew that someone would ever make a speed limit as low as 30 !!! the lowest we have in Ontario is a 40 for School Zones.

ya school and playground are 30, it was the first month of driving and it was a 60 zone to a playground zone and didnt notice the sign cuz i was driving a chic home and didnt know the area, when i saw him come out form behind a bush i almost shitted myself
