Ok, so this idea has been goint through my head for a while now. We as a team must do something good for our community, we must get our name out. and most importantly we must get the messege out that us car freaks are good people.


We should organize some kind of drive for something good. example, a food back drive. we choose a day, we drive arounf town, collecting food portions from diffrent naibourhoods and give it all to the food bank.

we contact the media and news channels and let them cover the entire thing. even newspapers. we get the team name out and we have a positive effect on peoples opinion towards us. and most importantly We are doing something good.

what do u guys think. stir up some ideas.

Sounds like a good idea. But we just can't drive around asking people for canned goods, and just "say" we're collecting for the food bank. I think we need to get forms and shiat filled out from the chosen charity.

that's a solid idea... my high school has the biggest canned food drive of the year in the fall... we donate our stuff to i think it was our shepherd of good hope or something... if u wanna go "canning", manotick is the place to be hardcore... cuz der so used to the can food drive from the fall with my skool

Yes I made that idea a few weeks ago and only some wanted to help out. Actually only a handful of people from this site even replied. The relay for life MEANS something to me. I will not do it just to get gen7 name out. You don't do charity work just to get your name out. You do it cause you want to help. Abes idea would of been better if he had the people at heart, not just making gen7 a name for themselves. I came on here asking people to help me out. I had everyone (except a few) make up excuses in why they couldn't. Alot just ignoring the post. Then you come on here and post you want to do charity work to help you flippin team? Give me a break, I am happy I decided long ago not to join your team. If I was a member I would of quit over this. You don't do charity work to benifit yourself. YES I am pissed. A fellow member comes on here for help and she gets ignorned. BUT someone posts hey lets do something good, I don't know what or for who but lets get our name out. This was a selfish thing to even think about.

anyways personnaly i havent been the best person at charities and stuff like that and I really should donate more. I think this would be fun to do because we could incorporate it into a mini car show even. Im not sure what we would have to do, but probably asking a food bank would be a start.

Caryne, dont talk to me about charity, i know this post is about me. the only excuse i mad was that i dont run, that Im a fat *** and i hate running, i didnt say i was not gonna join the run for hope, i said i was not gonna run, u immediatly assumed i wasent gonna join.

charity is not when u give it infront of people, its when u give money without anyone sees u. as charles said, i donate 3% of my yearly income for charity, not mentioning the charity i give at certain occasions that i have to.

this event is not about charity, this event is about helping people out while having some fun. if i wanted to give food to the food bank, i would have not made a thread about it. this event is to get other people to give food to the foodbank, and for us to have fun while makiing a better name for us.

i hate how cops and everyone target us just because of how our cars look, so something like this would be benificial both ways.

and dont give me that **** about doing charity for a good cause without any shelfness going with it. u wanna do the walk for life because cancer effected u personally. u never talked about doing charity for CHEO which is for kids. because u dont have kids. so in the end u r being shelfish

remember, absoloutly everything people do is shelfish, give me one thing that isnt.

First off this was not about you. Second I do give to Cheo, cancer society, cystic fibrosis, madd, and 3 other charities through family donation. So please get your fact straight before telling me I am selfish. Doing the cancer run is not to get my name out. It is to give. Everyone who is doing this with me has had cancer touch them somehow. I am doing this in memory of my mother and father who both died of cancer. In celebration of my grandmother and 2 Aunts who all 3 beat cancer. Please tell me how this is benifiting me? How this is giving me personal gain.

You say that you give without anyone seeing you. Then why call the media and tell them what you are doing? They will find you if what your doing is a good thing. You wanna help take the money you will spend for darknights and donate it? Would that be a good thing to read. "Local car club donates money instead of going to car show"

Doing charity work is about the charity not about you. You wanna do something else that is great. But do it for the right reasons. I have come on this forum 3 times to tell you that julian and I are raising money for a charity. We asked that it would be nice for people to make donations. If that couldn't be done come on down to the event and help raise some money there. Never once has that happened. Mike has come on here and asked for donations for a sick little baby. Has anyone made a donation? You come on here and say look lets get our name out. Don't know how or what to do and people all of a sudden think it's a good idea. Charity is not for personal gain.

I repect what you are saying and think your general idea is good. You came accross as having the car club in mind first and what you could gain from this.

EDIT: I never said you never do charity and never said you are personally selfish. I said it was a selfish thing to think of.

regardless both ideas are great and no matter what happens we are benefitting others that might not be as fortunate as us. I think its great that we have this much interest in giving, even if it benefits us. Giving to charity makes us all feel good about ourselves and fell like we are helping so its a win win situation for everyone.

Caryne, my idea is not for charity, let me get it clear, i do not want to do it to say i gave to the food bank, i wanna do it for the team, and as a bonus, some needy people get to eat.

yur idea is a pure charity event, which is why i never mentioned me bring media to it, or anything like that, we are doing that run for charity only.
