Exclamation I almost killed myself today

Man what a day....

As you know I recently got a spoiler for My Si and I was really happy....BUT I wasn't happy with the fact that the trunk didn't open like it used to and I had to use some force to get it open all the up because of the new added weight of the spoiler.. This was very dangerous to me in my opinion because once open all the way and a gust of wind would come along it would have slammed the trunk on my head..NOT GOOD

So I checked with Honda about this and they said yeah we sell high tension springs for a trunk with a spoiler so I said **** it and I ordered them..

66 Bucks later i get home and open the box and being a cocky **** that I am I told myself that I could install this myself...

WOW MAN big mistake I was in the trunk and I was prying one of the springs off to replace it it HIT ME RIGHT IN THE HEAD and I was almost out cold...

When I came too I drove to Honda Gatineau with the new springs and said to them to install them for me..

Anyways it took the guy 5 minuts and they charf=ged me 44 bucks to do it man I was pissed off.....

Please dont do this yourself man cause its FOOKING DANGEROUS lollllllllllllllllllllllll

Here are pics of the old springs (GREY) and the new ones in the trunk (BLACK)

Man those things really have alot of tension anyways now my trunk is safe and I love the way it pops fully open

glad your ok, and next time, dont pay to get it done, just ask one of us, and we will help you, one will hold the trunk open, and the other will do the install

You have to buy the tool. It basically compresses the springs to help in the install.

Marc, when you decide (and if) to upgrade your rear speakers, you'll have to be careful what you buy b/c some of the speakers on the market will not fit b/c of those springs. (magnets are too deep)

Anyways, just at thought.
