Getting some (KYBs) correction: TOKICOs!
Yo,
It's about time, I have decided to invest in some new shocks. My ride is at 115,000KM and I haven't replaced my crappy shocks since they were found to be defective/bad at 62,000KM (and unwarrantiable because lowered).
For the 4 KYB GR2's, I'm going to pay $908.50 (tax in) at KVR.
Anyone know if I could maybe get a better deal somewhere else?

Actually, the reason I' m paying to get them installed is because they are under LIFETIME warranty if installed by a certified garage.
Actually Mike, I'm so afraid that I will lose control of my car over the winter cause I'm bouncing all over the place.
Burn, I don't know about your shocks. Is your car lowered? All I know is that Honda has told me many times that the shocks for their 7thgens are crap. I was recommended by Hunt Club not to get the same shocks, lowered or not. To know if you need new shocks, is basically determining how rough your ride is. Like, little 'waves' in the street make my car rock up and down. And little bumps on the road make my car CLUNK inside. Everytime I hit a big bump, the impact inside the car is so loud and rough that it hurts my hear

have you thought about seeing if Honda will replace them under warranty....then you can install the KYB's in the spring. I know it's a longshot but my dealer replaced mine 3 times....My car was lowered each time.

WHAT!? Who's your dealer? They all tell me that I'm **** out of luck because it's lowered. I knew about the problem in the 60000km-range, but now I'm at 115000km, i think the warranty on them are gone reguardless now eh?

Dumb question KYB's are thos just shocks, or are they coilovers?
Mike so if any of us ever get blown struts, you could call your "contact" at your dealership, and we MAY be able to get **** done under "warranty" hehehe

Yeah dude $900+ for Tokico Blues (unadjustable) is WAY WAY too much for them ... I think I got quoted $600 from Grand Tech Auto ... but then again I'm asian (he'll prolly tack on $200 or so for white people ... lol jk).
Even at $600 I'm prolly not getting the best deal ... BUT I do know $900 is way to much.
Norek are those KYB's adjustable ?

get them off ebay for like 320 and have them shipped to a boarder postal service thing and pick them up yourself. way cheap. Thats what i did for my exhaust parts i ordered from the US. if you want details pm or get me on msn.

Ebay - Tokico HPs - Lifetime warranty - Better then KYB - $382 CND Shipped and insured.
KVR - KYB GR2s - Lifetime warranty - Lowend aftermarket - $560 CND
For this, I used my mastercard. What else is there?
Thanks for knocking some sense into me people, I almost went with KVR!

when i had my set of konis, i got the for around 900cnd and they should be price above tokicos. so obvously its too much money. u should consider getting coilovers.... for around that range u can get hayame/omi power/teins basic
KVR is good if you have connections. We always get good deals when we go in. You can't expect to go to a place once and walk out with a good deal. Try going to just one place for your mods. That way they see you are a good customer.

Good Choice?
I don't know jack about shocks, but IMO If my struts ever decided to blow again, I'd opt to get coilovers.
But at leat this way you won't have to worry about blown stuts again!
it's a good investment!

I will never overpay for my **** just to get better prices in the future. If they can't give me a price that will compare to what it costs for me to order and have them shipped off the internet, then I refuse to throw money away.
KVR I must say has amazing prices for other things like shift *****, neons, Xenon bulbs, etc...
example, FinalLap in Orleans had Xenon H4 bulbs for $75 (sticker price) -> KVR $30. KVR gave me a nice type-r shifter **** for $30 instead of the sticker that said $40.
Anyways, the TOKICO HP BLUES have been purchased for under 400 and I can't wait to install them! I hope it feels like a new car!
