So I was having a coffee with a couple of friends today, and when we got into my car they commented on how crappy the music I listen to is, so I popped in Landins CD and made them listen to it.
They commented that it was deep, good lyrics, they classified it as pure RAP, but unfortunately rap is dead, and there is no market for it anymore.
In our day, pop has evolved from Elton john and micheal Jackson to nsync and britanny spears. Rock has evolved from AC/DC to nickelback and creed. Rap has evolved from 2pac and biggie to the ying yang twins and usher.
The reality Is that pure good rock, rap, and pop is officially dead, it has all become mainstream POP, now we have Hip Pop instead of Rap, Cheasy sex videos instead of Pop, and garbage instead of Rock.
They commented that despite Landins stuff is excellent, it will never be successful, people don’t want to listen to this stuff and companies wont produce it. They said that if you wanna secede, add some bass to your song and a dance beat so that they can bump it at the clubs. I told them that landing would never lie in his songs and make something that isn’t true and quality, they said that that is an excellent attitude and that he should stay that way, but that he shouldn’t expect to go platinum.
What we need in Rap is a revolution, and Landin keep doing what u are doing, and maybe you can spark the revolution that we so need in the music world.

hahah abe i agree with you! Ive said it prolly 5 times in my songs how i highly doubt the fact that my music will go anywhere.
"makes me wonder, is my talent to the top, or headed straight back down under"
I do it for me, and for those willing to listen...i believe that everything goes thru changes. Commercial music wont last forever...eventually people will get bored....thats what i think! I appreciate there nice words tho its really good to hear!
Its seems like u've got "side-fx" figured out player! Good job man, and keep it up...i promise i will do my best to come up with original ideas/lyrics for those who want to hear me out!
