All I can say is f uck Mazda. Not only is my car burning oil like a **** but they won't do anything about it(after 4 times at the dealer). It burns just over 1L/1K kms. I just found out that replacing the stock tires is impossible. The OE tires are bad in winter but the stock size is very uncommon. My only option is to shell out money for steelies with winters and buy a set of summer tires for the stock rims. Time to go back to Honda(or Subaru). I am sick of Mazda, I am sick of FWD and I'm sick of entry-level vehicles.

Damn blown, I dunno what to say. I am sure you reamed out those service guys at the Mazda dealership.

I have heard some horror stories about Mazda, this is just another one to add to the pile.

Ream out the guys who are trying to fix it for me or ream out Mazda Canada for them not allowing the warranty work just yet?

All I can say is I'm trying to find a way to afford something in the $30Ks. If I sold my P5 privately I could but who wants to buy a car with an oil problem?

I would ream out Mazda Canada, I have a friend who owns a VW and had a problem with his trans. the dealership refused to fix it because he had mods. Even though his mods has nothing to do with the trans. failing. He called VW Canada, they agreed to fix his trans. under warrenty.

The dealership is behind me on this but Mazda Canada is being lame. They won't fix it until Mazda Canada gives them the ok for the warranty claim. Getting mad at the dealership won't help me at all, it will only make it worse. Getting mad at Mazda Canada is impossible.

That is stupid. Damn Mazda, they build nice cars but cannot back them when a simple problem such as a oil leak comes up.

My problem is potentially either a semi re-build or new motor depending on the internal damage/problem. It's just nice to know that's how Mazda deals with their problems, seems like their all about cost-savings rather than customer satisfaction with their warranty issues.

That is a tough situation, makes me lose confidence in a car maker when I hear stories like that.

Guys, what-is-up? Long time, and yes this place is rather dead. Oh well, I guess that's what you get for the winter. I have aquestion, I am looking at getting some springs for my ride and I need to know how much of a drop Dre and I believe it was Asian Pride (the white sedan?) had on thier rides? I was thinking Eibach's either 1inch or 1.4 inch kits. What's a safe bet? I can't afford coilovers so I figure the next best thing is springs becuase they come way cheaper. Also, I am going to need new rubber in the summer and I am looking to buy some shoes and rims as well. So should I go 17s or 18s. What are the general ramblings over sizing and general riding feel?
Blown, I am sorry you are driving a ford in disguise. Stick with the true imports and save yourself all the problems.
On another note, it seems like complaining to a dealership through their mail out surveys actually gets some attention. I complained about Yellowhead Honda not using fender aprons when they did a service on my car ( got a bunch of light scratches on my fronts from them) and I got a phone call at work from the Assistant Service Manager. He was apoligizing for the problem and is going to set me up with a courtesy car and detail my ride when I go in for my next scheduled service. I think they got worried when I wrote in the survey that I wouldn't return to them for servicing anymore. In any case, I am surprised at the response.

Graphicdude: Eibachs are a good set to go with, Tiens are also good. However when you are replacing the springs without aftermarket shocks you run a high risk of blowing your shocks. Therefore causing a harsh and uncomfortable ride.
Personally I feel that 17 is probally the largest rim you should get for a Civic, 18 is just too big. But it is your choice.

If you decide on Coilovers, I have a set of Tein SS on my Civic right now. I am probally going to sell them in the spring. Let me know if you are interested.
