New Car
New Car
Hey,
So I picked up my 2007 Fiji Blue SI Sedan a couple days ago. I owned a 2003but late one warm evening in July 2005 a 17 year old drunk driver decided to do this to my beauitful car:

Yes, it was very, very nice of her to buy me a new car:

However, it was not until three months after my car accident that I started to wake up in the morning and realize who I was and what I did the day before. So, three months after the accident I looked out of my bedroom window and saw the STI sititng in my driveway. I have no memories of buying it. I was in a neck brace (the docs thought I broke my neck but the swelling was interfering with the MRI so they had to wait until the swelling went down) so my husband did all the test driving. So, he took full advantage of my amnesia and bought the most expensive car on the lot. But, I never forgot how much fun it was to drive the SI. The rescue squad and life flight techs told me a few months after my accident that two things saved my life in this accident (I was going 60, she was going 30 and we hit head on) was one, I am a runner so while I had a 33 heart rate my lungs and heart were still working and two, the crumple zones in the car took the hit perfectly. I walked away with minor injuries (the drunk girl broke her arm). My husband sent the photos of my car to Honda after the accident explaining what happened. Honda was supposed to use the photos in an ad campaign to talk about the safety of the vehicle, but I dont know what ever happened to that.
So, for my birthday I bought the SI. Loving it, but man is it hard to get used to coming from driving a STI for a couple years. I am already looking to mod it out. My husband races SCCA with the STI, but I dont think I am going to put the SI in SCCA. Dont think it will be as much fun as the STI.
