WTB: D17A2 or D17A1 manual tranmission

WTB: D17A2 or D17A1 manual tranmission
Helping out a friend. He has a 2004 Civic EX with a manual transmission. Do not know exactly what happened, but transmission went out (has a hole the size of a quarter in the housing which is either the cause, fluid drained out, or the effect, whatever went in the tranny blew out the side, of the problem).
He is looking for a direct replacement of his D17A2 transmission or would even entertain a D17A1 transmission to help get better fuel economy. Anyone have one or know where to get one? Been calling around to the local junkyards and no one has anything.
