Safe boost level?

I did a search but I couldnt find any post about the maximum safe boost level for our cars. I know that I read a post saying that the intake manifold splits at like 11, and the block is good for 12 but I cant find any specific numbers. I know that it would be safe to run my kit at 8PSI, but would 9 be too much?

has anyone here actually broken anything with a turbo besides the headgasket?

Has anyone blown pistons, broken rods, or spun bearings?

I remember that post as well, but its not the right one. The guy specificly said that he turned his boost pressure to X PSI and after about 5 minutes the intake manifold split.

um i reaaly think it was pooled nitrous in the manifold and it suddenly ignited causing it to explode, or split if you will.

for how long were you boosting it at that? i thought anything over 8 psi was risking it.

Go ahead and turn it up until it blows. A new D17 engine goes for $700 or less on ebay.
