can i save on nitrous gauge

can i save on nitrous gauge
is there any reason why i have to spend 40 or so on a NOS, NX, ZEX etc gauge for my nitrous bottle. I work for a company that deal with hydryulic parts etc, so i can get gauge for this type of app. for next to nothing. does anyone know if 1/8 or 1/4 screw in will work. and can i use the the blow off nut (the bolt on the opposite side from the line screw in) to mount the gauge.
