Question d17 good turbo platform?

Hey guys got a question for you turbo fanatics out there... i know Catalyst has a boosted D17 and so far everything has held up fine. My newest thought was to buy another D17 (plus tranny) and rebuild it internally so it could handle boost safely and hopefully last awhile.. rods, pistons and all that stuff Anybody think it would be worth it? I know somebody is gonna say "Just buy a k20a" NO! Tryin to be a different as possible, but then that just seems like i'm trying to ice skate up-hill. Oh yeah speaking of different my friend has a 91 CRX which he plans on swapping that bonk *** engine with a rotory engine and making it RWD
?

You could do that if your plan on running higher then 8 psi....That would also be a lot of cash because most of everything will have to be custom. 8 psi on our cars though will be more than enough power unless you plan on being a hardcore track sl*u*t

You could save some money by having your stock conecting rods shot peened, instead of replacing them. Even if you build up your internals you still have to replace the stock intake manifold if you want to run more then 10 psi. That POS 2 piece plastic manifold will plit in half at that pressure.
