75shot should not be trusted
no man, a 100 shot will blow the welds on the intake!

no, but really, a 75shot is pushing it. most people recommend a 50. i am running 75 and its really noticeable. you should probably do more research into nitrous oxide before you put it on your car, however. because a 150 shot on a stock (internally) d17 is retarted.

no i was making fun of f&f. if you upgraded your internals, you could run 100. i just really would not recommend it. i'd run a 75, like me, but your engine will live longer.

the intake manifold IS plastic...

the 100 shot is not a good idea... 75 is pushing it and like 75 said, a 50 shot is recommended.... usually people start from low increments like 35 shot and slowly move up.... 100 shot is dangerous especially if you've never used nitrous before.... even with the forged pistons and rods you'll still need more than that... the nitrous doesn't only endanger your rods and pistons.... don't do something you'll regret later...

many many intake manifolds are plastic. Take the camaro Ls1 for example and they push more than 100 shot through theirs.

The trick to not destroying the manifold is not to have a backfire in the intake manifold.

3 possibilities of this occuring are:

you puddle the fuel causing it to explode in the manifold.

you run to much ignition

you don't run enough octane.

What other mods to run 100 shot? Well you can take your chances stock. You can build the motor/clutch etc.

Or you can be reasonable and run the recommend shot for your motor (50)

people have made custom intake manifold for our cars by modifying other brands like focuz and i think venom and skunk2.... btw... whats up with you and your itch to squeeze 100 shot anyways?? what do you mainly use your car for??? i don't want to disapoint you but if you're looking to make a 10 second 7th gen civic.. it's not gonna happen unless you're prepared to spend oodles of green...

No, our cars respond horribly to mods other than nitrous and turbo.

Turbo is your best bet

Nitrous is not an everday thing, even when used correctly. It is not recomended for more than 15s. I would only push it that far if you are loosing and sometime you have to count your loses. If you want all the time upgrade then turbo or supercharge (even though there is no blower that i now of available) is the only way to go.
How I have a SCC mag that showed where honda got 170hp out of the D17 all motor although it didn't state how. I proably Port and Polished, with proper CPU mods to bump up the Hp.

Evidently no one on here has owned a Civic previously? The D series is what is wrong with out cars. All D series engines have sucked, I think that is common knowledge.. I think instead of referencing to our cars we should reference to the D series. Because when you say our cars it makes 7thgens sound shity, and they are by far the most advanced Civic to date.

Actually the d16 is one of the best cars to turbo....It responds to boost better and can hold more than any B-series stock. D series are not waht is wrong with our cars, it is the fuel system and lack of mods provided for our cars due to the fuel system...

also about N20, here in ga (so i heard) its illegal to use N20 on the road...so u might wanna considere if you realy wanna use it for everyday use, especially on the road...plus u will have to get alot of nitrious.

not to be a ****, but if you have to ask all these questions, its probably not a good idea to run nitrous at all. its good that youre asking and learning, but wait until youre more familiar with your car and nitrous in general before bolting it onto your car. once again not to be an a$$hole, but I can see you posting in a month about how you blew your engine or totaled your ride.

i think 75shot was just telling you in advance not to PM him. youre kinda getting flamed because you keep calling it NOS, NOS is a brand by Holley, it means Nitrous Oxide Systems. it doesnt really bother me, but some people take stuff like that to heart. its good that youre asking questions, but like everyone is telling you, if you want to run nitrous start off with like a 35 or 50 shot, let your engine get used to it, and build your internals to run a larger shot. One of the problems with running more than a 75 shot is that there isnt a lot of companys making parts much more than bolt ons that are worth the money. If you REALLY must run such a large shot, like I said buy a nitrous kit, the Zex wet kit is really good, its smallest setting is a 55 shot. Run that for a while and then move to the 75. If your engine runs good with that buy a new manifold, pistons, etc., KMS supposedly makes a good manifold, and then move up to the 100 shot. Zex uses jets manufactured by NOS, so you could snag some of the larger shots from them since the Zex kit only goes up to 75. That should answer all your questions and then some.
