from what i understand, we (automatics) may need to add a oil and tranny cooler depending on the boost. but other than that it is safe to turbo a auto, i know i'm going to!

You said you are just looking for a little power... maybe a turbo is better than a swap. I would only spend money on a swap if I thought I was going to go even further with it later on. But just dropping an engine in for some "extra power" seems a little expensive. I guess it just depends on what you really want to do or plan on.

you could add a Torque Convertex, Flywheel Flex Plate and Tranny cooler, they're available at JMO Performance

mechanically everything should work out but ive heard many stories about the dangers ouf not being able to control the power.

There was this one guy with a turbo auto integra GSR, he was going up a slight hill just after it had rained, the car downshifted he spun, and spun.....and spun his little tires, eventually he lost control and went into the ditch because the car wouldn't upshift to a higher gear so his tires could catch.

JDMCIVIC will become famous soon enough
I thought that all GSR's are stick. I think it was probably a GS, no DOHC VTEC engine will ever be an auto.

your right, the guy said GSR, but now that you mention it all GSR's were stick, hmmmmmm.

BTW aren't the base RSX's avaiable with an auto. And the K20A3 is a DOHC iVTEC

yep, base rsx's can come with the automatic tranny with the sportshift mode. The k20a3's DOHC I-VTEC is a bit different from the K20a2's. Go to the hondata website and read their great articles about the rsx and I-VTEC.

i have an auto and i'm waiting on my SF turbo kit...i went out to autozone and found a cheap little transmission cooler for 25 bucks...its by Hayden Automotive part no. 401. The dimensions are 5"x12.75"x9.75" and its .75" thick. I am planning on putting in front of the ac condenser. It comes with a little mounting kit and a good length of hose...i think it will work nicely
