Exclamation HKS Turbo Exhaust Manifold update!!!

From an HKS Administrator on the forum from their site:

"we're being told 6 weeks or less. there was a problem with clearance on the initial prototype which required more R&D time. should know more next week after durability tests are complete."

HKS thread I started...

Are they working on this for the EX or LX/DX, or both?

There isn't a difference when it come's to the manifold between LX/DX and EX I though. D17 is a D17 isn't it? Correct me if I'm wrong though.

no difference... i was planning on buying EX headers and moving the cat under the car... but now that the sf power turbo kit is out, i'm eliminating the cat altogether....

but yea.. the EX headers fit on LX/DX exhaust manifold...

i have preetymuch lost all hope on a hks system. i don't know why they won't just produce the whole kit and label it off road use only. seems like it would be a waste of time to just make a manifold.

Well - screw the kit. I'm more interested in the manifold anyhow. That would make two manfolds with equal runners (SF powers, and HKS). I don't want a log manifold, and I don't want one with an external wastegate (too much hassle and mess). Internal all the way for me....

FYI: It's going to be made to fit a T25 if anybody forgot... that's if they even produce it. It was supposed to be out the beginning of April, now it's almost July.

Yah I know - I started it! Trying to find out what the deal is. The previous thread there said something along the lines of 6 weeks. That was about 2 months or so ago. So far nothing.

I think they are just selling everyone up the river, and don't plan on releasing **** to be honest......

Would that really matter? Turbochargers aren't C.A.R.B legal are they? What about fuel controllers, wastegates, BOVS, etc? Everything I basically own for my turbo has the little sticker on it that says no legal for use on California highways. Unless you were talking about a full kit. Didn't they try it... I thought they wanted to sell 30hp for $3500-4000 dollars. and I don't think it was street legal

im assuming you dont have any kind of testing up there? they just started it here in louisville, but i think they may be getting rid of it. its really just a way to get an extra $40 from you once a year

We have testing, but not right now. It's all being switched over to OBD-II diagnostics and the state emission facilities are being closed down and contracted to regular shops. The only things that will be illegal about my car though is the dumping from the wastegate into the atmosphere and moving the converter. But that's in inspection not emissions... and only takes place like every 10 years. By then the catalytic converter wouldn't matter and I would have blown up my engine from the need for speed.
