Engine swap

I have a 2000 honda civic with a d16y8 pushing 405hp just rebuild it a week later got t bone bought a 01 civic with a d17a2 motor thats blowed can i put my d16y8 motor in it without much problems

Illegal in most areas to swap an older engine into a newer car. And you would need a bunch of custom work. Better off to get another 6th gen

If it will mount up cant i just change the wiring harness and the pcm (computers) over and everything be okay oh and here in north carolina us rednecks makes way

it wont just “mount up”. Will need custom fabrication.

It's been done, but it's a TON of custom fab.

As for the emissions, as long as your d16 passes emissions for the engine that's supposed to be in the car (d17), you'll be fine.

It makes more sense just to get an older civic though.
