K20 swap list

Redirect me if needed, I know its been talked about before, but I'm curious to know if anyone knows a specific list of parts to swap a k20 with the RSX type-s 6 SPD trans into a auto 05 lx sedan. I'm looking at having a local shop do this for me, but I'm still possibly interested in doing this myself. To be honest I'd rather do it myself, cheaper and more rewarding for sure. I would really appreciate any help guys. Also, I live in Sioux falls, SD. If anyone in the area with experience doing this would be interested in helping, hit me up with a message. I'm looking at doing this prlly early spring of 2020.

Re: K20 swap list

Go buy a wrecked/rotted RSX and you'll have everything besides a couple AC lines. There's a stickied thread in the engine swap section where someone k swapped their car using an auto RSX and did an excellent write up with pictures

And then you can sell the unneeded RSX stuff to gain back money

Re: K20 swap list

... you're missing the point, it will be basically the same steps except you're using a manual trans

Re: K20 swap list

Am I wrong thinking there would be different steps with a manual trans and everything that comes with that vs a auto? Also I wouldn't reuse OEM mounts from an RSX, I know that. I'm sure some of the steps might be the same, but that's not what I'm asking about anyways. I don't need to know HOW to do the swap, I just wanted the specific list of parts that I'm going to need for my swap, most likely I'm not going to be going the donor car route, dont have the room. thnx

Re: K20 swap list

huh...

doing swaps requires resourcefulness and perseverance to find solutions and also find information...

Posted on wrong section, did not search for the information already available, did not find out that there is a section for engine swaps, did not do any efforts to find the information, etc...

That does not look good to even attempt to try a swap...

moved to correct section.
good luck

Re: K20 swap list

Wow, no need to be a ****. I did research the site, never came across a specific list of needed parts for the swap, like I said in my original post, redirect me if needed. That type of comment is not helpful in the slightest. Please tell me there are more respectful people on this site, and that this guy doesn't represent the majority. Any HELPFUL people out there have a list of parts needes for the swap, I would appreciate it, thanks

Not really, couple extra steps to install the clutch pedal, reservoir, and lines. 80% of the work would all be the same.
And again just buy an entire rsx, way cheaper than buying everything individually. And you can sell parts to recoup some money. And you could just run the OEM mounts for now and save up for aftermarket mounts, especially since this is your daily so you want to do the swap quickly

Re: K20 swap list

If I come across a RSX donor that would be best, I agree, but I don't really have room to put another car, lol. And I think I would spend the money up front for the hasport mounts. Also, by the time I do the swap I'll have a winter beater ready to go I won't be driving my car in the winter.
