So there is still an engine light issue. Car is running lean, but it's still driveable. Pulls like a ****!
I went to move it and noticed I'm leaking antifreeze. It's just from a loose hose, so we need to replace a clamp. Other than that, it's a beast. Will try to get pictures this week.

Update: Ordered a new hose from Honda, and the two clamps that go with the hose (from the firewall to the engine) and a new A/F sensor. Honda called me back about 3 hours after I ordered everything and told me that the hose and one of the clamps was on back order until July. FML
We're just going to keep the hose that we have on the engine, and put better clamps on it. As for that sensor, that will fix the last engine code. Sorry about the delay in the pictures, I've just been super busy lately. I promise to get some pictures up for you guys!

nice clean looking swap,
I'd HIGHLY suggest you kpro it. get yourself a k20a2 ecu and get it kpro'd.
while you're at it, get yourself an injen cai ... these motors are highly responsive whether you are feeding it hot air [aem v2 = very hot.] or cold air with the intake
hondata's intake manifold gasket would do you some good too ... IM is cool to the touch after a drive.

I'd like to kpro the engine, but I don't have $1000 lying around right now. At the moment, I'm just having fun with the new car. In due time I will start doing more things to it.

No. Different size exhaust.
If your looking to do the swap, I would recommend using an RSX-S exhaust manifold/cat and get a custom exhaust done from the cat-back to a universal muffler of choice. I was able to cut my old magnaflow exhaust, and re-use that (not the original plan, but one that worked) but I need to go to a muffler shop next season and have them take everything off from the cat-back, and re-do the piping so it sits higher and has no leaks.
I was surprised at the sound difference the magnaflow had from the old D17 to the K20. It actually sounds like a car with power. I'm contemplating keeping the resonator on, or taking it off, and just keeping the muffler.

Good job on the install guys. I know who I'll turn to when its time for me to upgrade.
Erik, let me know when your going to the exhaust shop. Im thinking of getting a custom cat back for next year.
Also, I would keep a resonator on there. It might sound horrible without one.

Yeah I was worried about that. I would be doing it at the start of next season. So if weather permits, March or April. It would be either a Monday or Friday to. (Dan's Muffler isn't open on weekends)
I will be sure to let you know when I plan on taking a day off to get it done. Do you have a new muffler for the custom exhaust? Or were you planning on using the same one you have now?

i realize that you listed all the things that you needed as well as the things that xproductionz didn't list throughout this entire thread but is there a way you can make a final compiled list of everything that you required for this build including the things not listed by xproductionz. also do you have a final listing on the amount you paid entirely for the swap?

what did you do about the hood hitting P/S pulley, i see it says you used hood shocks. can you give a link to what you are using and how well it worked and if it needed any more modification to the hood. thanks

I believe both NRG and Tien make hood struts for our cars. I know the NRG ones are $165. If you have a carbon fiber or fiberglass good dont install those, as they put too much pressure on the hood

I'd have to go through my whole envelope of bills to figure out all the parts I gathered up through the whole swap. Let me take a look tonight and I can see what I come up with. I figure I spent close to $8,000 for the engine and all the parts required. It's not a cheap swap...... at all.
Parts: (I will include honda part numbers if I have them)
36532-PRB-A01 SENSOR OXYGEN (needed both sensors because the ones I got were bad)
54310-S6M-043 Shift linkage cables (needed new ones)
K20A Engine (and parts included with the engine)
- Exhaust manifold and downpipe
- Primary and Secondary O2 Sensors
- Shift Cables
- Catalytic Converter
- PRC ECU
- Engine Harness
- Charge Harness
- Starter
- PS pump
- Alternator
- AC Compressor (not in use ATM)
- PRC Intake manifold
- Throttle Body
Moroso battery box
Moroso battery box wire kit
JDM ITR axel set 36mm (sold these, didn't want to do the 5 lug conversion)
30530-PRB-A01 SENSOR KNOCK (the one on the swap was broken, so you may or may not need this)
18229-S6M-A51 GASKET FLEX EX
36531-PRB-A01 SENSOR AIR FUEL
2003 EP3 SUBFRAME
2003 EP3 AXLES
There was also a bunch of soldering required for the harness (sensors etc)
I went through all the receipts that I had, I'm sure I'm missing some items, and you will run into issue I promise hahaha.

We needed to drill out the skeleton of the hood to fit over the PS pulley. It's nice and clean, and doesn't look like a chop job at all.

Hey, how did you guys wire up the secondary O2 sensor? We've made the harness that they describe in the xproductionz write up, but it's only for the primary sensor. It just mentioned disabling the secondary sensor with kpro... but I don't have kpro...

Re: JDM DC5 K20A swap into a 2001 EM2
Im about to swap in a k20a2 complete from rsx type s. Can I just get an adapter npt fitting from napa or lowes to hook my em2 clutch line to the transmission?
Yes I know the em2 clutch line is ran along the firewall around the passenger side and to the radiator support, I had planned to get a tube flaring tool and just get a right size fitting or an adapter fitting but I dont know the thread sizes.
thanks

Re: JDM DC5 K20A swap into a 2001 EM2
on my em2 the secondary was maybe a foot lower on the exhaust and was wired into the engine harness so all I have to do is wire in the secondary into the engine harness clip (c101)

Re: JDM DC5 K20A swap into a 2001 EM2
I have mine wired only too the Fuse box and it doesnt seem to turn on. Im thinking i need to splice a wire from B6 to the wire from the switch right?
Kinda frustrated with my swap, JUST turned the key on it yesterday and having a few problems. And k20a.org is down so i cant do as much research and i cant update my build thread.
Here's the problems i have so far,
1. Car starts and idles high for a min then starts to fluctuate or pulse.
2. Tachometer doesnt even move at all.
3. Havent seen the radiator fan turn on once.
I think the idle problem MAY (and this is a big MAY) be because i have the Throttle Cable too tight? Or that i havent done the ECM/PCM Idle Learn procedure (because i cant get my tachometer to even move from 0) but im not sure yet
Other than that everything else SEEMS to be working. If anyone has any idea about my problems let me know please i would greatly appreciate some input.
Thanks a lot!

This is the cleanest freaking K20 swap I have seen so far bro! It looks like it was done at the factory! Congratulations I wish I had the money to do it to my 02 EM2! Wow
