I have a 2003 civic lx 5spd. i got a complete 2001 and 2002 civic ex 5spd.
ive read up on the swaps and how to however there flawed and old and out of date.
I am gonna swap the ecu, engine harness, motor and trans.
Heres what i have problem with and are not covered with the old how to thread...
1. if someone uses the dx/lk harness and adds the vtec wires where do the pin outs go into the ecu since they have to be added to the dx lx engine harness for vtec and knock sensor, and where does the knock sensor get pluged into?
2. since the ex harness has only one o2 sensor wired into it and the dx/lx harness has both o2 wires ran through ecu, if one was using the ex harness in the dx/lx how would you wire the 2nd o2 sensor as the ex chasis harness has it not the engine harness?
3. since the ecu has to be reflashed can one just swap out the ignition lock in the steering shaft and switch the lock and electrical crap over and just use the key and ecu out of the donor car? Youd just need the ignition lock the tumblers etc key and the ignition switch? thus if this was done there is no need to have honda to reflash the ecu...?
i am not cutting and soldering unless absolutely nessesary, id rather depin and repin the harness looks oem and professional.
