Force Open Loop
Force Open Loop
I'd like to discuss what on our cars will 100% force open loop. I am assuming based on peoples complaint of partial throttle boost tuning issues, that the map sensor will not force open loop even at its max voltage of 2.9v at about 14.7 psia. So will the TPS sensor cause open loop at a certain % or voltage?
I have also heard from other sources that if you fix the voltage on the coolant sensor below a certain point, that it will not allow closed loop to begin due to the computer thinking the motor is to cold. Please follow up with your ideas. Thanks.

Re: Force Open Loop
Wow, registered in August 2009, first post June 2011.
I've heard of people removing their coolant temp sensor altogether and that forcing open loop. Most people who are running tuning D17s have k-pro and that allows open loop to be enabled based on what you select.

Re: Force Open Loop
I do understand that K-Pro is the best option out there for tuning. The reason I brought this up is that I have the F/IC. I am thinking of using the analog a/b input/outputs to remap a sensors voltage based on the internal map sensor of the F/IC, therfore when going into boost, I can force the ECU into open loop for easy tuning (theory).
