was looking at the proton series by NX

was wondering if anyone has used this kit, gunna scoop it up on the 28'th if i don't find anything to alarming out about it..
just found out there is a NX shop 32 miles from me

well, im gunna go drive by the nx shop tomorrow morning and pick the kit up. prolly get the bottle filled while im there, but wont be able to use it for a few days while i wait for plugs to come by mail.
unless of course they sell non NX brand plugs there, then ill scoop some up.
think im gunna start with a 50 shot with 2 steps colder plugs, and maybe try 75 if 50's not enough.

well, got the kit today, they were out of the proton series but the guy said he'd cut me a deal on a mainline series, so i got it, $350 for the kit, and a bottle fill, install took me about 4 hours including a few breaks and a couple runs in the backup car to the parts store. dont have colder plugs so i have 35 shot jets in right now with 91 octane.
its really impressive, very satisfied, after i get plugs i will keep it at a 50 shot.

Ya man, Nitrous is FUN!!! I used a 50 shot for about a year on my old engine, and then when I put in my new low mileage one, I bumped up to a 75 shot! 0 to 60 in 5 seconds!!! I love it! IMO though, you should get some ZEX nitrous plugs. Every plug I've used before that has had a tendency to fail. One step colder NGK's, 2 steps colder NGK's, it didnt matter. Now I have the ZEX plugs in, and not a single problem. Give em a shot. You can get em on Ebay for like 25 bucks for the set!

sl33py, i read that like 800 times on these forums while i was deciding weather or not to get the nitrous... im glad i did.
so far ive been through about 3/4'ths of my first bottle, had it for 5 days now, but most of that was used in the first 2 days ( all the friends wanted to race )
its probably not going to get used much at all now, but its there if i need it
gunna start doing some exterior and interior mods now.

You will be suprised how many people you will precieve wanna race! Its funny cause before I put my nitrous in, I didnt even try to keep up with the Si's and the BMW's. But now im full throttle constantly. Youll get loose after awhile and not use it as much though eventually. I used to go through a full 10 lb. bottle every week!!! About 6 weeks in I calmed down a bit. Now, I filled my bottle about a month ago, and still got about 3/4 of it left. Of course, summer is coming, which means lots of Drags at the raceways around town, sooooo, back to forking out about 50 bucks every two weeks!!!! Gotta LOVE the hot ****!!!
