Ok I have a 01 ex and I love this car but its not enough for my I was gunna boost it but not sure....my buddy that has a bubble with like almost 500hp was like ma don't do it its a headache ........I wanted to do a swap but all the swaps for this car are so much money.....so I was wondering if I could swap the engine from a 2002 -2004 si into my car amd how much would a swap like that cost me.....if it can't ..well then if anybody wants a fresh ex.....hit me up

Swap would be around the same price as a good turbo setup if not a little bit more, nothing is cheap $4-$6K. You might be better off selling the car and getting something you are happier with.

you can swap, but it costs lots of monies. you can boost, but it costs lots of monies. you can sell your car and get a faster one, but in all likelihood, it costs more monies.

power ain't cheap and nothing comes free in this world. to make power, you've got to pay to play. i know, it sucks.

I guess so, just funny to me that you want to build your civic but at the thought of anything challenging you will sell it. Sounds kind of childish to me. American, Japanese, or German you obviously have to put time and money in to the car if your going to build it. Its really a no brainer, besides the fact that there is alot of topics..but whatever I am a nice guy. Search for "k-20" and "k-24" swaps there is alot of info on the forums.. but once again its not a one two three thing, and obviously not inexpensive..

Godspeed makes a 1500 turbo kit minus the fuel system. Buy Kpro 6 to 800 used, get some used RSX injectors, i got mine for 125 back in the day. Add a couple more 100 for tuning and i cant see why you would spend more than 3gs at the most. Thats just a rough estimate but like 04 honda said anything you do will take little effort.

Stock SI has 160 HP....A stock 2001-2005 Civic Ex has 127 HP at the flywheel. Is 30 HP at the flywheel really worth the work of swapping in another engine, custom mounts, ECU, axles, other modifications? I would rather sell my car and by an RSX type S or SI. and save me some headache.

Well 3 grand to you might not be so expensive, but sor someone else it is, but 3 grand is just starting..and thats assuming you do all the work yourself.

You will prob just do better selling it and moving on. Civics are made to be economy cars first and will always take a lil money to make go. You can buy another car but theres always somebody going to be faster than you. Itll take as much money to make a 350z or g35 fast as it would be for a swap or turbo the civic. Speed = Money period no matter if its import or domestic. I own an 04 ex and an 02 mustang gt and can tell you that trying to make a 4 cylinder as fast as a v8 takes alot of time and money. Good luck on whatever you do.
