Re: Turbo help?

Very general question...Its a good idea if you know what you are doing and want more power. Horrible idea if you dont want to spend ALOT of money and dont know anything about motors or how a turbo system works. Keep searching, tons of info on this site...

Re: Turbo help?

By alot of money he means ALOT. Its a Very bad idea to but turbo pressure on a motor with that many miles. Your going to start blowing seals and your head gasket. I would look into rebuilding your motor first then forced induction. Do you know how a turbo charger works?

Re: Turbo help?

You need to have a foundation to build off of. Boost a motor with that many miles is NOT a good idea at all. Sure you'll get 300 HP for about a month and then you'll start running into the nightmares that come with it. Turbo charging requires of planning and understanding before attempting. The goal of any project turbo charging should be Reliable power. it's easy to tell some one to turbo your project, but with out preparing your project car it's going to be hell later on. Many problems could be Running a lean condition, Knock, Miss fires, as stated before Blown head gaskets or seals. yes you do have OBD-II but tuning should not just consist of ECU flashes. Proper tuning and monitoring systems should be used.
