Re: ARP headstuds torque

60 is good you can probably do 65-67 ft-lbs I definitely would not do 100 cause then you risk tearing out the threads in the block which sucks I would talk to Andy Jeff Evans gave him some really good torquing steps

Re: ARP headstuds torque

If you're boosted, you need 80. I used to torque mine to 5 over OEM spec and continued popping gaskets. Now that I'm torquing to 80, no more issues.

Re: ARP headstuds torque

I went to 70ft/lbs and I'm running fine. I think I went 23,38,42,59, and 70

I'm certainly not pushing Andy's power, but based on what he said I might go up to 75-80

Re: ARP headstuds torque

Sweet. I'm in for the 2nd time adjustin valves due to some tappin noises so I figure might aswell retorque em. I only drove it once around the parking lot before I noticed my 1/8 npt to -3an fitting leaking oil......I think I should be fine just going back over and torquin em to 80....All the special lube might be gone though. I hope it does not affect my torque.....

Sucks I have to wait 2 days for another fitting so I can't drive the car. It's been down for almost 4 months for alot of rebuild.....Should have only taken 1-2 weekends but I've been so busy at work & then my dealership got hit by a tornado......so my shop was getting rebuilt....no cash flow...I had to bum jobs for dough until we got the shop up! Sucks! Wish me luck!

Re: ARP headstuds torque

Holy ****, that sucks man. Yeah, I'm going 80 ft\lbs on this next one when I'm ready to strap the head back on. I feel ya about being down for inordinate amounts of time due to waiting for parts.
