So now you tell me, Paul. I thought my stock HG was gonna hold as long as I put studs in. Or is that still true? LOL

I know the stock ones are 3 layers and metal (probably steel). I don't know if its so much better that im willing to pay over double the price of stock.

After enough internet reading, it seems as if the cometics blow at about the same rate as stock gaskets. The stockers are viton coated MLS, just like the cometic ones.

Well good and bad news. The head and block are both in good shape and within spec. but I streached the head studs. So I have some new ones along with an OEM gasket and some other parts on order. Should be probably about a week till im up and running.

maybe if I decide to get a little crazy I can have shawn tune me on some race gas @ 20ish psi HAHA. I just wish we could get e85 since its SOOOO much cheaper and high octane too. Im curious to see how much fuel the stock pump can flow. The injectors where under 50% duty at 235hp.

Well I just ordered a small 230v Lincon mig welder so I can make my own exhaust. I dont like the quality of work that usually comes from muffler shops. All this stuff is getting expensive lol.

Clutch is done... It isn’t as bad as I thought it would be as far as engagement and drivability goes. It does grab REALLY hard but it’s still smooth enough for daily driving. My 8.5lb flywheel may not be good daily though haha. owell at least rev matching is WAY easier now.

Ok well I’m back from a 20 mile drive and wow. It really doesn’t like to be under any load at idle. If I use the power steering with the a/c on the idle dips really low. I think ill bump the idle up to about 950 RPMs in K-Pro and maybe mess with the idle solenoid duty cycle and see what happens.
