Re: this clutch for the dezod kit
It's a stock clutch, just an exact replacement for what you have in there. Most folks swear by them and you will probably be fine with it for 6-7 psi. You can't beat the price.
I bought the Exedy Racing Stage 1 setup earlier this year from those guys (gripforce), and love it. It has a higher clamp rating than the stocker so it should be able to handle more power, its rated to take 300hp at the crank.
Here's the thread I made about the Stage 1 one that I have.
'foos Stage 1 Exedy thread
Hope this helps, but bottom line is the new stocker should be more than enough for that amount of boost.

Re: this clutch for the dezod kit
Stock clutch wont handle 6-7psi of boost for a long time. I'll give it few thousand miles before it starts to slip.
You need to be looking at least at for Exeedy Organic clutch as the OEM like drivability and it is rated something like 125% over stock.

damm .. ok ok i see .. the organic and the stage 1 are the same price +-50... so its better to go with the organic rite or stage 1 ? so i shouldn't waste money buying the OEM?

Re: this clutch for the dezod kit
The Exedy Stage 1 is a full-face organic clutch - its the one I bought. Check the part numbers as they should be the same, something like 08801A. There aren't two separate ones.
Re: this clutch for the dezod kit
The exedy will by my next choice aswell. I ordered the Clutch Masters Stage 4 clutch kit. I went with this kit because I got a hell of a deal with dezod & I was in the planning to turbo my ex. So I got it in and I loved it the first week. I could scrub the tires into 3rd gear hard with the stock sohc! However after about a week of abuse the thing chatters like crazy letting off, the throw out bearing is already making racket, and omg my transmission sounds like its about to rip itself apart when downshifting!!! Oh, and not to mention I have about 3-4 honda tsb on strange tranny noises.
(I've replaced all motor/tranny mounts & both axles, took care of the obvious!)
So, do not get the CC stage 4 clutch!!! I guess I over prepaired for my turbo
The thing is awesome on upshifts, hard launches. That clutch slams you back into the seat, she grabs like ****!
However, it shelled my tranny when my motor was stock! It loves my turbo but my tranny is in bad shape. Looking for a replacement so I don't have to take mine out & rebuild. $2300 worth of parts for rebuild at my cost from my honda dealership
LKQ used trannys go for $1200 w/ 100k on em!!! Yikes!!!
Hope this helps make someones clutch choice easier!!! go exedy!!!

Re: this clutch for the dezod kit
..ok .. so people are telling me that if im just slapping on the turbo onto the stock motor, i don't need to change my clutch as the stock one is good enough for 170-180hp .. some say u can go up to 200 without needing to change it ... this is key because i don't haev the money to change my clutch, but the only reason why i would is if its NECESSARY .. so lemme know .. and if i do change it, i will go with exedy stage 1 organic i guess :S considerring thats whats popular and reliable
Re: this clutch for the dezod kit
Ok well if you don't have the dough just wait then. Get the turbo put on and save the dough to get it done. It is a nessecity for more power but it'll hold up for alittle while. Just don't get to crazy with it!

1) Don't abuse it unless you have to.
2) Learn to feather or come close to it as possible.
3) Opt for a sprung on the disc unless you 100% need an unsprung disc
4) Learn to rev-match, not just downshift. (your clutch & valve train will thank you for it)
5) Purchase a clutch that will harness your TQ capacity. TQ breaks clutches!
Re: this clutch for the dezod kit
oh ya I beat the hell out of her....I actually RPM Match my downshifts all the time, this is the only way not to make my tranny go crazy on downshifts. It's as if the tranny had a violent seizure and all the motor mounts/subframe is loose. I should record it and post. It is pretty funny to hear....I guess if you don't have to pay for it....
But like I said, other than take off noise/chatter & downshift the tranny shifts great! I actually took a Lancer Evo by about 2 cars off the line last night. I launched @ 4800 and she went, I smoked the tires all through first but I hit 2nd and caught like crazy. So yes it's a great clutch, just alittle too aggressive....nothing wrong with your product dezod
I love ya guys!!!
P.S. I did get the sprung clutch aswell, no way would I go unsprung for street
