Help! Which ECU do I need?
Help! Which ECU do I need?
I'm buying all the parts I need for the auto-to-manual swap, and I'm about to purchase the manual ECU. Earlier today though, I received a phone call, and the guy said there were two different ECUs, one being:
37820-PLR-A12 or
37820-PLR-A13
I told him I wanted the ECU from a 04-05 civic ex coupe, but he wasn't sure which one was which. Any help here would be appreciated. I'm sure one of them is for the auto and the other for the manual, but I just don't want to buy the wrong one!

Re: Help! Which ECU do I need?
Ha. A good old case of "help thyself." I called my buddy that works at Honda, and after he looked them up, he found out that both of them are manual d17a2 ecus, one is just a newer version.
Re: Help! Which ECU do I need?
The ONLY difference between an ecu from 01-03 and 04-05 is the fact that the 04-05 uses a wideband. Keep in mind that if your car is an 01-03 and you pick up an 04-05 ecu, you will have to wire in a factory wideband sensor, otherwise, you'll have a CEL for primary o2 until you do.
