intercooler piping ?
intercooler piping ?
well i was looking around, under, and in my engine bay today to figure out how i am going to run intercooler piping...the only way i could think of doing it without losing my ac was to run both of the pipes to the intercooler from the left side of the car...i was just needing to know if its possible to run intercooler pipes from an intercooler with the inlet and outlet on opposite sides and still keep the ac without running the pipes under the car...thnx for any input
Re: intercooler piping ?
ive seen it done like how u thought of. both on one side. and ive seen it done on either side and people have their a/c still. i just dont know how..sorry. somebody has to know around here.

Under it, in front of it, pull the PS and go over it, the options are probably limitless to how you could do it. IIRC, the TSI kit goes under the compressor and belt set.
The one place I wouldnt go is through the belt loop.

Go all through the passenger for ease of install and lack of headaches. We have the intercoolers and pipes available for you to tackle this.
Re: intercooler piping ?
ive seen the dezod kit and i really like it but i just dont have $600+ to spend on and intercooler and piping because im 17 and have a $7 an hour job
even tho its gonna be a pain in the a** im just gonna custom make the pipes to save me some $ and id like to have some knowledge on how to do that from first hand experience. and ive decided to run both pipes on the passenger side to make it a little easier. and another ?. i was wondering if the intercoolers on ebay were even worth their money... i found one for about 150 shipped with the inlet and outlet on one side. so any opinions or comments would be appreciated. thnx

There are only a handfull of companies in the world that make the cores so sometimes in this case its not always about the name brand. Make sure you get one thats not epoxied, it should be furnace brazed and have good looking welds on cast endtanks. Some of the sheetmetal-tanked ebay ICs have thin tanks and you cant tell in the pictures. There are pluses and minuses to using bar and plate vs a good tube and fin core. Typically a bar and plate will do a better job, but not always. They can tend to push a lot of air in front of them and can hinder airflow to the radiator in certain cases. Other than that, I've used plenty of ebay ICs in my life and never had a problem. If its $50 its probably garbage, for $150-200 you can do ok if you shop around and you are patient.
