Finally Started My Project
Finally Started My Project
Well I finally got around to installing my turbo set up. Here is my parts list.
Garret t3/t4 57trim 63 a/r
Tial Wastegate (3lbs spring)
Dezod Manifold
eBay Intercooler
Greddy Type R BOV
PSC XFC
Dezod Downpipe
310cc Injectors
Custom Intercooler Piping
I think thats everything. Install was a pain in the ***. Nothing lined up during the install, but w/e it was fun
Here are a couple pictures. Sorry for the quality, I took them on my phone.

I just need to pop the ECU in and it's all finished. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I am going to pick my car up soon, so i'll take some better pictures.

are you running an internal wastegate? Did you just block off the port for the external one or something?
*edit* never mind is see your using the tial wastegate. looking good.

Half assed?????? I would only say the only thing half assed is the intercooler. Every thing else is good stuff.
Thanks for the complements everyone!!!
Here is the part were I ask for HELLPPP!!!!!!
The turbo is not spooling and the BOV is not sounding off. I am thinking it is my vacuums, because the BOV does not stay closed it is open them when I push the throttle down a little it shuts. Is that supposed to happen? And the wastegate does not seem to be oppening at all?
BTW: I t'd everything off from the brake booster.
Then at around 4-5K the coupler at the throttle body gets sucked in and cuts of the flow into the throttle body. I know I need to change that, but could that be the source to all my problems?
PS: I am a little new to turbo as you can tell, but is the turbo supposed to stop spinning at idle?
Thanks for the help

well im not sure about the wastegate but from what i heard the type r blow off valve is for somewhere around 15-25 psi which is way more than your running i doubt it will open with the low amount of boost your running.. umm in those pics i cant really tell but do you have your oil lines hooked up to the turbo?

uhm dude i just want to make sure but do u have oil going to your turbo because in your pics i can not see any lines going to your turbo that would even be remotely close to an oil line.
^^ Yea those pictures are from before I put the oil lines in. If you can see in the picture there is ducktape over the oil feed.
Is the brake booster a good place to tee off the vacuum lines?
And right now I have the top port and side port of the wastegate going to a vacuum. And I don't have a boost controller. On honda-tech it says to leave the top open and put a vacuum to the side port. That probably sounds really confusing lol, but could that be any reason why I am having problems?

well that would explain why your wastegate hasnt oppend because there is a diaphram type thing in the wastegate and if u have pressureized air pushing on both sides of the diaphram the wastegate will never open. Put only a vaccuum line on the side part. I am boosted and i know about all the pains and headaches. PM me and ill give you my cell phone number and i can answer questions u have about all the stuff
^^^^ Thanks but I think I got everything figured out. I changed the vacuum on the WG. I started the car and everything sound right the turbo is spinning ALOT faster and it sounds like it is spooling up, but the car bogs out at 3,500 RPM and idles at 500 RPM. So I am guessing it is my ECU that is giving problems.

yeah that could be. I know my car was bogging out that early under full throttle cuz i had a small vaccuum leak somewhere so all the air was escaping through there and was not going to my motor.

Again my jealousy consumes me! Nah that's cool man Glad to hear that you've got your turbo strapped on. Dezod watch out I'm going to buy one of your kits! (Maybe like in 20 years when I have enough dough.)
Re: Finally Started My Project
Well I finished my install. I had a sh*t load of problems with the PCS, but I eventually resolved it in the end. Here are some pictures. There is a little primer on my bumper because im getting it painted.

Re: Finally Started My Project
very nice man... btw when u get ur bumper repainted, do u have to prime the whole thing again? like how does that work out... i plan on getting my bumper repainted... :/
Re: Finally Started My Project
No on those two spots I had a some cracks in the bumper, so I got them filled in. And I just have to get those spots repainted.

Re: Finally Started My Project
Yea it will be a little off, but I just need a quick fix kinda thing. When I have time I am going to repaint eveything.
You don't have to primer your bumper again. The existing paint on the car will act as the primer. You would just have to sand your bumper down and smooth it out them repaint it.

Re: Finally Started My Project
Is that turbo a true 57 trim? Where did you pick it up from? Is the turbine housing a .63 ar? Looks like the compressor is a 60 and the turbine is a 48. If it is a true 57 trim, you're pimping the same turbo as I am. If its a rue 63 ar turbine housing, that monster will make 450 whp. It will make lots of power with very fast spool time. Great turbo, I love mine.

Re: Finally Started My Project
I bought it off of honda-marketplace. hHe had it and never used it and didn't want it anymore. He sold it to me for $450 brand new wrappped up in the box. Pretty good deal. Yea from what I know the turbo is a 57 trim .63 a/r. The turbo didn't come with a spec sheet or anything, so I am just going by what the guy told me.
The turbo is pretty nice. Everyone was telling me the turbo would take a long time to spool, but the seems to spool up very very fast. I was suprised, but right now I am a 3 psi so i guess it might take a little longer to spool when I up the boost.

Well, the housing should have stamps on them. The compressor housing is going to be a 60 ar and the turbine housing is going to be 48, 63 or 82.
